"I'm back!" I said, running into Myrtle's bathroom. It was empty.
"What the -- whered they go?" I asked.
After wandering around the corridors for hours, I realized it's time for lunch in the great hall. I'll ask Hermione if she's seen them. Walking into the great hall, I scanned the Slytherin table. There they were. Talking and laughing. I stormed up there and tapped Draco on the shoulder. "Forget something?" I asked.
The whole table was staring at me. Probably wondering why a Ravenclaw was talking to a Slytherin.
Cassie and Draco spun around. "Shit! Sorry! We forgot." Cassie said.
"I WAS SO WORRIED! I THOUGHT YOU HAD DIED! - okay, maybe not that bad - BUT I WAS FREAKING OUT! I WANDERED AROUND THE CORRIDORS FOR HOURS!" I said, then took a deep breath and calmed down. "By the way Daphne, nice necklace."
"Um . . . Thanks?" Daphne said confusedly.
"Want to sit?" Cassie asked as if nothing had happened.
"Sure. Thank you." I said, equally calm.
Draco made Theodore scootch over. He did so confusedly. I sat down and when I noticed the staring I said, "What are you looking at? The other tables sit with each other all the time. Don't act like you're better than me. Ravenclaw is totally wooping your ass in quidditch."
They silently went back to their food.
-------------------------
"I don't see what the big deal is." I said to Seamus as we were walking through the corridors to go to the courtyard.
"You sat with the Slytherins! You do realize you're the first person in Hogwarts history from a different house to sit with the Slytherins?"
"People actually document that crap?" I asked.
"Yes, they do."
I shook my head, "Those Slytherins and their precious seating arrangements. Cassie and Draco were fine with it."
"Don't call him Draco! He's Malfoy. He's evil! People don't change!"
I spun around. "Excuse me? People do change! What's so wrong with me sitting with the Slytherins? Do you think I'll leave you or something? I don't need to spend every second with you, Seamus! It's like your afraid I'll fall in love with someone else if you don't keep me under constant surveilence!"
"Well you have been pretty close with Harry lately."
"YOU THINK I'M GOING TO LEAVE YOU FOR HARRY POTTER? HE'S MY BEST FRIEND! HE UNDERSTANDS WHAT IT'S LIKE BEING KNOWN FOR FAME BEFORE YOURSELF! I RISKED MY FUCKING LIFE SAVING YOU! NO, ACTUALLY. I GAVE MY LIFE SAVING YOU! IF YOU'RE SO UNGRATEFUL, MAYBE I WILL LEAVE YOU!"
The last three sentences must've hit him hard. Good. He deserves the pain. I had tears in my eyes as I spun on my heel and stormed to my dormitory. Harry had been watching the whole thing. He ran after me.
"You okay, Emma?"
I shook my head, "No."
"I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault Seamus is a fucking git."
Hermione came running after me next. Then Neville.
"Oh, Emma." Hermione said and hugged me.
"Thanks Hermione." I said. "I needed a hug."
-------------------------
Later that night, I snuck out of my dorm and went to the Black Lake. I unclasped the necklace from my neck and held it in my hand. I moved to throw it into the lake but something grabbed my arm.
I spun around. It was Dean Thomas.
"Don't do it." he said.
"Why not?" I snapped.
"Seamus has been in the dormitory crying all day. He feels horrible."
"Good." I said, before going back to my dormitory.
Then I realized I still had the necklace in my hand.
A/N: I didn't orginally plan for that fight to happen. I just started writing and it happened. I had planned for Seamus to get jealous about Harry for a while, but I didn't know when.
