A/N: Well, I slept in until like 12:30. Otherwise I would've updated this morning. But whatever, it's Christmas break. I can sleep as long as I want to. And it being Christmas break also means I have more time for Wattpad! *wink wink* So, yeah. Expect more updates.
I woke up the next morning and went down to breakfast. As soon as I entered the great hall, Dean ran up to me and asked, "Have you seen Seamus? He wasn't in the dormitory this morning. And I can't find him anywhere."
"Why would I know? I'm avoiding him for a reason." I answered. Though inside, I was beginning to get a little worried. I would understand if he wasn't at breakfast. But not in the dormitory?
"I need to find him. He was really upset after the quidditch game."
"Well, good luck." I said.
"You're not going to help?"
"Maybe I'll listen to him later, but if he thinks I'm going to go running around the castle looking for him, no."
Dean shrugged and ran out.
I sat down at the Ravenclaw table, when I started hearing a commotion. I looked up when Luna started shaking my shoulders.
"What?" I asked.
I looked around and people were filing out of the great hall.
"What's going on?"
"Seamus is on the quidditch commentator's box."
"Okay?"
"He's going to jump, Emma."
"WHAT?" I practically jumped out of my seat and start shoving through the crowd.
"GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY!"
People began moving to the side to let me through. I ran faster than I've ever ran before all the way to the quidditch feild. There was a crowd gathering at the bottom of the box.
Proffesor McGonagall was trying to get students to go back to the Great Hall. But no one was listening.
"Mr. Finnigan!" Madam Hooch shouted, "This is not going to solve your problem! Get down this minute!"
I had to shove more people out of my way to get to the stairs. Proffesor Snape stopped me, "Headmaster Dumbledore is working on it."
"Move, Snape."
"Excuse me?"
"I SAID MOVE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SEE A STUDENT DIE YOU IDIOTIC BASTARD!"
Snapes eyes went wide. As did others around me. Emma Torret would never yell at a teacher, never defy a teacher, let alone call one an idiotic bastard.
Snape moved to the side anyway and I ran up the stairs shouting, "SEAMUS!"
When I got to the top, Dumbledore was trying to talk Seamus down. When Dumbledore saw me he said, "Ah, Mr. Finnigan, Ms. Torret is here to talk to you. I'm just going to step down, okay? Please, whatever you do, don't move."
Dumbledore stepped down and I walked towards Seamus with my hands outstretched.
"Seamus, please don't do this."
My heart was hammering in my chest and I was sure everyone on the quidditch feild could hear it.
"Maybe it was a mistake, Emma. You shouldn't have saved me. You should have let me die. Because I don't -- I didn't deserve you to save me. I don't deserve you in the first place. You deserve someone better."
I shook my head, "No, Seamus. I don't. I'm sorry I didn't let you apologize."
"I didn't deserve a chance to aplogize." he said, one foot dangling over the edge.
"Seamus quit being an idiot!" I shouted. "Sorry. I just -- I didn't save you after thinking about it. It was a split second desicion. You know what thinks for me in a split second desicion?"
"Your instincts." Seamus said flatly.
"No, Seamus. I push down my insticts. For some reason I feel rational thinking is better. But, in split second decisions when I can't use my head I use my heart. I had to love you to save you. I do love you. I really do. I can't live with myself knowing you killed yourself for me. Just get off the edge."
"You really love me?" Seamus asked.
I nodded. "Yes, Seamus."
"You shouldn't." he said, and stepped his foot off.
"NO!" I screamed, and grabbed his hand.
He was dangling off the edge and I was the only thing keeping him from the deadly fall.
"No! Let him go! Let him splat!" Parkinson yelled.
Draco punched her across the face.
"HELP!" I shouted, trying desperatly to pull Seamus back up.
Dumbledore and Snape rushed up to help and together we pulled him back up.
I hugged Seamus tightly. "Don't ever do something that reckless ever again."
"I'm sorry, Emma. I love you."
"Just promise me you'll trust me more?"
"I promise."
And I kissed him.
Loud applause erupted. Followed by a few colorful words from Parkinson. Does she ever take a break from being a complete bitch? Or does her bitchiness run on energizer batteries? (I have muggle friends. So yes, I know what batteries are.)
"You do realize I saved you twice?" I asked.
He nodded, "Yeah."
I laughed. "You seem to be in danger a lot."
Which caused him to laugh as well.
