My heart hurts and I yearn to be loved
I reminisce on the past and find myself engorging
With that toasty, by-the-fire feeling
That I only felt at Christmastime when
Everything was just right
Surrounded by neverending, unconditional love
That time has long past
My heart hurts and I yearn to be loved
No safer place, no warmer place
Than his arms
I've never felt more secure, more sure of myself
Happy and uplifted by invisible clouds
Now deflated and I'm hurling back towards the hardened ground
CRASH!
My heart hurts and I yearn to be loved.
