I woke up a little later and coughed some more. Zuko came in. "You again?" I asked rudely. "You seem to be saying that a lot lately," he commented. "I only say it to people who deserve it." I said coldly. Zuko rolled his eyes. "We're here." "Where exactly is here?" I asked. "The Western Air temple." "Guess Geo got to go to her destination after all." He smiled a little bit, reminiscing about old times. "Come on," he said. "No," I said. "I can walk by myself." Zuko leaned against the door frame. "Really?" he said. "Yes, really," I answered with a cough. "No you can't. You're exhausted and you're sick." "Yes I can!" I insisted. He crossed his arms. "Prove it." Screw you. I thought. I pushed off the covers and swung my legs around. "Go on," he said. I put my bare feet on the ground and struggled to sit up. I took a breath in. I can do this. I thought. I pushed down on the bed and stood up. That was the easy part. The hard part was making it to the door. I lifted one leg and put it down a little further away. Good. Now for the right leg. I pulled it up and I couldn't support myself. My left leg was numb from the fight and was so weak that I couldn't balance anymore. I fell hard onto the ground. I failed, I thought. "Come on," Zuko said gently. He slipped his left hand on the small of my back, his right under the crease of my knees, gently lifted me off the floor, and took me out into the hallway. A fierce drowsiness swept over me and it was a struggle to keep my eyes open. Zuko brought me out into the hallway. Eyes open! I thought forcefully. Zuko already thought that I was too weak to handle myself, I didn't need him thinking it even more. Zuko took a left turn and I saw a door in front of us. Zuko turned around and brought his elbow down on the handle. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore and my eyes shut. I wasn't asleep, my eyes just shut. Zuko waited for Sokka, who was still shouldering Suki. They walked out the door. "Where did you guys get this thing?" said an annoying motherly voice. Katara. The odd thing was, I was starting to miss her nagging. "What happened to the war balloon?" "It got destroyed." Zuko said casually. Katara apparently looked down. "You found her!" she nearly screamed. "Shh!" Zuko said, not wanting to wake me. "Must have been some crazy fishing trip," said Katara. "Did you get any meat?" Toph asked. "I did." Sokka said. "The best meat of all." That's what she said. I thought. "The meat of friendship and fatherhood." Huh? I thought. "Hello everyone," Suki said. I heard the massive footsteps of Chit Sang coming out of the zeppelin. "I'm new," he said. Then Hakoda stepped out. "Dad," I heard Katara say tearfully. "Hello, Katara," Hakoda said. "Wait," said Katara. "How...where...where did you guys even go?" "Uh..." said Sokka. "We went to a Fire-Nation prison." I could almost hear the eye roll. "Seriously, you guys didn't bring back any meat?" Toph said. I groaned. "Sokka," Zuko said. "Do we have anymore open rooms?" "Afraid not," Sokka said. "We only have two available rooms, one for Dad and one for Chit." "What about Suki?" Zuko asked. "Um..." said Sokka awkwardly, "...we'll be sharing a room..." "Never mind!" Zuko said quickly. "I don't want to know!" Zuko regained himself and said, "What about Tatiana?" "I honestly wasn't planning on finding so many people in the same prison," Sokka said. "Well..." said Zuko. "She could have my room. I'll sleep out here." "You sure you want to do that?" Sokka asked. "Sure," said Zuko. I felt extremely tired and numb. I finally gave in and went to sleep.
* * * *
I opened my eyes and everything was a blur of color. "Where am I?" I whispered. Zuko came in and I gasped. I don't know why, my mind was almost gone at that point. I couldn't think straight and I could barely connect anything with anything. I scrambled out of the bed and screamed, "Get away from me!" "Tatiana, calm down," Zuko said. "You're starting to lose it!" I didn't hear. I only remembered the horrible things he did to me and everyone else. I tried to get to the door but I fell down My mind was a complete blur. I couldn't make heads or tails of anything. Everything seemed out of place and confusing, which made it seem threatening.
I had to scramble to my feet before taking off down the hall. "Tatiana! Wait!" I ran for it and came to an outer lobby where everyone else was gathered. I kept running but tripped on Aang's wrongly placed staff and fell. "Katara!" Geo yelled. Everything went into a blur. I could hear Katara rushing over and kneeling by me. "Will she be alright?" Geo asked. "Hard to tell," said Katara looking at my eyes. "Back up," said Zuko. "Give her room to breathe." Then he knelt by me. I shivered when he got close. "Don't worry," he soothed, gently placing his hand on my shoulder. "You're safe now." Then everything went black again. Damn unconsciousness.
