Hope's POV:

One week later (23rd of December)

"I think I've got everything." I said, ticking my list off as Chance and I sat in the airport waiting for our plane to be called.

"Why the hell would you be doing a checklist now?" Chance asked incredulously, furrowing his thick eyebrows as he stared down at me. He was already wearing his neck pillow along with his sunglasses and grey sweatpants with a plain white shirt.

He looked like a 5 course meal.

Keep it together. Friendship remember!

"I don't know! I've already done it but I wanted to reread over it just in case." I sighed, sinking down in the waiting seats as Chance chuckled.

This morning Chance and I were supposed to take the limo with his parents, but they decided they wanted to leave 3 days earlier to go sight seeing just together. So Chance and I caught an Uber instead.

Which meant one thing.

I was still yet to meet his parents.

Although I knew that Chance and I were just friends, I was still nervous to meet them both.

"Hey, it's alright." Chance spoke, bringing me out of my constant anxiety. I turned my head and looked at him. He sent me a genuine smile and I felt my chest tighten at just that action.

Stupid heart.

"I know I shouldn't be stressing about meeting your parents since we're just friends-." Chance grunted at that accusation. "-But for some reason I am." I spoke sternly, sending him an annoyed glare as he rolled his eyes.

"Meh." He replied, his arms crossed as he leant lazily into the seat. His long legs were extended out as his arms were folded, causing his biceps to pulse.

I forced my eyes to look away.

"Flight 38 is now being boarded. Los Angeles to New York. Approximately a 5 hours and 15 minute flight."

A loud voice called over the speakers.

Chance and I instantly bounced up. I clutched my pillow in under one arm as Chance held both of our small carry on bags under both of his.

"You have the tickets?" He asked.

I nodded, reaching into my bag littered with printed on kiss marks and pulled out the two plane tickets. I waved them around as he smiled and nodded at me.

"I can't believe we're flying in first class!" I squealed, getting into the first class line which held only 3 people in it; an old couple and some young teenage boy who had his head buried in his phone.

"Only the best for you." Chance sang, leaning his head down onto my own as I giggled, pushing him in his gut slightly as he grunted.

"Next!" The lady called.

The young boy walked forward as she scanned his ticket, ripping it and handing him back the part he needed. He began to walk off and nearly tripped over the small risen ledge.

"Next!" She spoke, her eyes landing on us.

I handed her both the tickets and she quickly scanned them, her eyes lingering in Chance's a bit too long for my liking.

"Here you are. Have a safe flight." She spoke, a smile on her face.

"Don't tell us that, we can't control whether we have a safe flight. Tell the pilots that." Chance spoke, the lady staring up at him as she laughed.
