Troye POV
When I opened the door I heard Tyler yell out, "Whose there?" I would be lying if I didn't find the way his deeper voice boomed through the room sexy. Whenever Tyler got nervous he always lowered his voice, he said it "made people take him more seriously". Yeah Tyler, because I would total take a 5 foot 3 guy with purple hair so seriously just because his voice was an octave lower.
"Who else would be walking into your old house at 8 PM besides me?" I say, a little confused about what he was thinking. Was he expecting someone?
As soon as he saw me his eyes lit up and he ran towards me. He grabbed me and pulled me in for the biggest hug I had ever gotten, nearly knocking over the tray of coffee I was holding in my hand.
"Well someone's excited to see me." I say sarcastically, trying to cover up my underlying confusion. I was gone just over an hour, why was he acting like I just came back from the dead?
"Troye! I thought I was never going to see you again!" Okay now I was seriously confused.
"I didn't realize that getting coffee for my best friend was now a life or death mission." What the hell had gotten into him? For the first time since I got back I took a good look at him. To be completely honest he looked like shit. He was covered in sweat, his hair was a mess, and his eyes were red and tear stains were all over his face.
"Troye, where did you go? Why didn't you come downstairs?" He was getting angry now, and I still had no idea what was wrong with him.
"I liked it a lot better when you were jumping into my arms acting like I just came back from war. And I went to get coffee." As I say this I make an obvious gesture to the tray in my hand that he had almost spilled all over me a few seconds earlier. "I went into your room to get a new shirt because mine was obviously ruined but when I went downstairs you weren't there so I decided to go and get us some refreshments."
"But what about the pills?"
"I took those with me and threw them out. I didn't want you to try anything stupid while I was gone. It's not that I don't trust you Tilly, I was just scared. I couldn't lose you, I almost lost you once and I couldn't let that happen again."
Instead of getting a lecture about how he was a grown adult and could take care of himself and didn't need me he just looked at me and started to cry.
"Tilly, babe, don't cry. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. I was just trying to protect you."
"Troye, that's not why I'm crying. I'm not mad at you."
"Wait, you're not?" I was honestly shocked. Tyler had a little bit of an anger problem, just giving him the wrong drink could set him off.
"Troye, I thought you were dead."
I couldn't believe what he just said, why the hell would I be dead?
"Well last time I checked I was alive." This boy made no sense sometimes.
"Shut up, this is serious." He began to tell me how it looked from his point of view and I felt like such an idiot, but it did make me pretty happy to know Tyler got so upset when he thought I was dead.
"Don't ever scare me like that ever again. I can't lose you Troye, I need you."
We just stood like that for a while. It was nice, and I just wanted to rest in his arms like this forever.
"We should go do something fun. I've had enough of being sad for one day." I was so happy when Tyler finally said this, as much as I loved standing here with him I wanted him to be happy again.
