I woke up on the cold ground. Octavia was next to me. There was no sign of anything that had happened last night. I wondered if I should tell her and the others about last night. I mean it was fucked up to watch and I didn't know how Tavi would feel. I went to brush her hair away from her face and hesitated. I didn't want to ignite the fever if I was going to tell her about what they were actually doing to us here.
"What's wrong," Tavi asked and I hadn't even known she was awake.
"I was awake when they grabbed us," I said.
"They grabbed us," she asked, concern in her voice.
"Yeah, right after they gassed us," I said.
Tavi searched my face. I knew she could tell that I was stressing and not just because we were in this cage. I stood up and paced for a few seconds.
"I know what they are doing here and what they need us for. As you know they take skin, hair and blood samples when you first get here. What they don't tell you is that they keep doing that. As well as taking saliva and eggs. They are splicing supernatural DNA together with Human DNA to create super soldiers with none of the weaknesses form either species," I said.
"Are you saying that they have been taking eggs from all the women here and making, what children," she asked standing too.
I shook my head. It wasn't like I understood the process just the goal of the people doing it.
"I don't know, maybe. Dr. Claw did mention the next generation. He also said they planned on keeping us here forever, taking everything from us until we are little more than test dummies for the things they are trying to create," I said.
Tavi shuddered in horror.
"We need to get out of here," she said stating the obvious.
"We do and thankfully Emersyn and Octavian are on their way to get us. The men who work for Dr. Claw found a tracer that had been planted on the van we were brought here in. They know where we are and if I know Syn like I think I do, we will be out of this place before the sun goes down," I said.
"How do you know all of this? And what makes you say that?"
"I overheard the good doctor and one of his henchmen talking while we were in that strange operating room. And Emersyn drugs herself during the full moon so that she doesn't have to deal with the urge to mate while the moon is full, so she will definitely be here before the moon rises," I said.
Tavi looked at me with curiosity in her beautifully strange eyes.
"I would think a female like Emersyn Inouye would have males lining up around the block at the chance to service her during the moon fever," she said.
"Not that any of this matters but Emersyn isn't into casual sex ever since she was burned by a former lover. Not that she was before him, but her urge to be alone got worse after she learned of his betrayal. So, for the last 50 years or so she drugs herself during the moon fever. I can't even tell you the last time she gave into the change on the full moon. Trust me, if they are going to get us out it's going to be before the sun sets," I said.
"Well then we better get prepared," she said.
I nodded.
"Ladies, listen up," Tavi said, drawing the attention of everyone.
"We may have an opportunity to escape in a little bit. We all need to be ready as soon as something pops off," I said, not too loudly as I didn't want to tip off the men holding us that we were organizing an escape effort.
