Knights of the Earth Glossary of Terms and Proper Nouns
Lycanthrope: someone born or infected with the lycanthropy disease, first thought only refer to werewolves, now used to refer to any wereanimal.
De Mari: the Sovereign of the Blue Weretigers, usually a woman but can be a man.
Preternaturals: anyone/thing beyond a normal human or animal.
Shift/Shifting: to change from one form to another, usually humanoid to animal or the reverse.
Weretiger: someone born or infected with the Panthera Tigris Lycanthropy strain.
Vampire: someone born or infected with the Sanguíus Siti virus. Born-vampires are much stronger than those turned into vampires.
Werewolf: someone born or infected with the Canis Lupus Lycanthropy strain.
Hybrid: someone born with the DNA of two or more preternatural beings.
Shields: a mental block used to keep out psychic invasions.
Fae/Faeries: nature/elemental spirits made flesh that were once worshipped as deities by early humans.
Elf/Elves: cousins of the fae, lesser in power though not by much.
Glamour: the ability to wrap magic and illusion around oneself to hide their true form. Used primarily by fae and elves.
Dampener: a human made device that can essentially turn off the abilities of preternatural beings.
SFS/Supernatural Forces Squad: a branch of the human military that uses preternaturals to combat supernatural threats.
Werelion: someone born or infected with the Panthera Leo lycanthropy strain.
Demi-God/Demi-Goddess: A child born of a god and something else, most common combo is god and human.
Vaidesian/Vaidesi: a species of Fae born of Lightning and Energy, Vaidesi is also the name of the ruling family of this species.
Hallow Hill: a magical space hidden between realms that contain whole magical worlds built for and by the Fae.
Moonfever: a condition caused by the full moon. During this time lycanthropes are filled with the urge to mate. If they do not relieve this urge, they may go feral. This condition was instilled in lycanthropes to ensure the survival of the species. *Only effects lycanthropes in the Knights of the Earth Alternate Universe*
