Chapter 114- Found
(49 HOURS 55 MINUTES)
Attarah lay on her back in the cave, all she could hear was the rough course sound of her breath whistling in her throat, her end was near and she knew it, her lungs felt as though they would soon collapse and she knew that death would soon be upon her as she no longer felt pain. She no longer felt anything.
Athendora and Sulpicia knew as well, after one last round of beating, they had left. Now she was all alone, destined to die a lonely play toy. They had gotten their full joy from her torture and there was nothing more for them to do. Attarah was a strong willed women, she was destined for more than this and she knew it. She was aware that she looked like a corpse and was seconds away from being one but she refused to die without putting up a fight. The human dragged herself through the trees, nails In the dirt and fear in her eyes but also, determination. This is not what the end of Attarah Swan would look like. She was the future Volturi Queen.
"ATTARAH!" she heard a holler and she recognized the voice distinctly though her brain failed to process it. She had to speak, she had to let them know she was there or they would never find her. she mustered all her might and breathed in deeply.
"Help" it came out as a whisper and she knew she had to do better than that, they were vampires but even she could barely hear herself. With all the strength she had left, she mustered her voice "HELP!" she screamed, it was not exactly clear what she had said but the noise was enough. She heard footsteps and in front of her appeared her guardian angel, Bella.
There was no time to wonder why her sister was there or say a single other word, Attarah tumbled to the ground in unconsciousness, she knew that she was safe now.
(Bella POV)
Bella ran through the trees of the Volterra forest, she knew above all else that she had to find her sister, herself and her family had come to Italy the second Alice saw the vision. It wasn't clear but it was enough to tell them that Attarah was in danger. All that could be seen was the terrified expression of the human and a blood curdling scream.
They arrived in Italy to pure chaos, guards and servants galore were in uproar, scouring the forest and local area for Attarah who had not been seen for over two days. She had clearly been taken as she would not leave them. It took no time at all for them to begin the hunt. The kings were an absolute mess, demanding everyone to search twenty four hours as them themselves did so also, they ran circles but were in such a manic frenzy that Bella was sure they could pass straight passed her and not notice.
Bella was filled with fear, she did not know how long her sister could survive out there, especially considering her assailants. The kings were certain that the former wives had taken her, Aro had seen Sulpicia on new years eve night and now felt horrendous for not doing anything about it, he had only told her to leave and nothing else.
"ATTARAH!" Bella shouted for the thousandth time, hoping that at some point she would get a response, they would never give up looking for her. Bella was wondering around when she finally heard a response, a loud piercing and hopeful scream of "HELP!" Isabella instantly turned and ran to it, she knew it was Attarah, she would recognize her baby sisters voice in the largest of crowds.
Finally reaching the location, Bella stared in shock, feeling warmth leave her undead body at the chilling sight before her. Crouched on the floor, almost like an animal was her sister, her hair was matted, buried in blood and mud. All over she was covered in scars, scabs and wounds. She had pure pain sewed into her features. Her face was painted in a mask of crimson blood from an ugly wound along her cheek. When their eyes locked, Attarahs green eyes lit up in hope and she collapsed to the floor. In an instant Bella was at her side, venom pooling in her eyes as she pulled her tiny sister into her arms. The vampire pulled off her jumper and wrapped her sister in it, their skin temperatures almost matched.
"I FOUND HER!!" Bella screamed as loud as she possibly could and heard a thousand pairs of feet make their way toward them. Isabella was sat on the ground with the dying human, whispering words to her. She was safe now. The first to reach them was Carlisle who had clearly been in the local area. The doctor was at their side instantly assessing the damage with a wounded expression. Next was Marcus, the king screamed in pain at the sight of his mate and ripped her violently from Bella's arms, huddling her to him and whispering a repeated phrase in Italian.
Soon Aro arrived and was grabbing Attarah out of Marcus' arms. More and more vampires crowded around and Caius flung people out of his path as he arrived in the clearing. The King fell to his knees and practically threw Marcus across the clearing to get to Attarah.
"Stop it!" a voice growled as the kings fought and Caius was pulled away, being contained in the arms of Felix and Alec. In the next moment Aro was held by Edward and Emmett and Marcus was pinned to a tree by Demetri and Rosalie.
"All of you need to calm down!" Carlisle ordered "You're hurting her more than she already is" he growled and they were all shocked to see it. It was very unlike Carlisle to get angry. "We need to get her back to the castle now so I can help her."
