P.o.v. Shawn
I was almost there, just a few more minutes. My hands were sweating and shaking heavily. I had no idea what I had to say to her.
My phone started to ring. "Hello?" I asked. "Be careful" my mom said. I smiled and answered "I will".
I saw a little market on the way so I decided to make a quick stop. You can't show up without anything to give, right? My mom always taught me to never show up empty handed.
I grabbed my wallet and went inside. "Good evening" an older man said. I smiled at him. "Good evening" I replied. "Oh aren't you Shawn? Sophia told me about you I think." he said. I just nodded simply.
Sophia talked about me? What did she say? Anything good?
"You're here to make it right, I guess?" he whispered smiling. I nodded again and started smiling. "Good luck. She's a wonderful girl. Don't waist your shot" he continued smiling and I thanked him.
Okay so what can make a girl happy? Chocolate but that's too easy. Maybe some flowers? Okay nope. Uh... how hard could it be.
I was walking when all of a sudden I saw it. It was a snow globe and you could put your own picture in it.
I didn't have a picture of her and me together but I had one of her and Jodie, when they were playing in the snow.
I asked the man if I could print the picture. It wasn't a problem. He's a really nice man. I placed the picture into the snow globe.
I also took some food with me because I was hungry. Then I went to the cash desk and paid. "Good luck son" the older guy said. "I'll need it" I answered with a smile.
I walked out of the store, back to my car. "Come on, Shawn. You can do this. Just go over to her place and tell her how you feel" I whispered to myself.
I've never done this before. I've never met a girl like Sophia before. She's special. She's unique. I started smiling. Just the thought of her made me smile.
Her eyes.
Her laugh.
Her voice.
Her lips.
Just everything about her.
She's amazing. And I hope one day she'll be mine.
Will she ever be able to forgive me? I've made some terrible mistakes but I just hoped it wasn't too late yet.
I shouldn't have said that she wants me for my money. And I also shouldn't have said that I didn't know her.
I'm an idiot.

"You've reached your destination" the car said. I smiled and looked at the house.
It was already pretty late and it started to get dark. There was no lightning and her car was also gone. "No no no no" I whispered. I was too late.
I opened the car door and ran towards the house. I pressed the doorbell a few times but no one answered. I sighed deeply. She's gone.
What now?
Tears started to fill my eyes. I don't even know which state she lives in. Maybe the guy from the store knows?
I ran back to the car and drove back to the store. The older man was closing the shop. "Excuse me" I yelled loudly. The man raised his eyebrows and unlocked the door again.
"I'm sorry but do you know where Sophia lives?" I asked immediately. "Come in" he said. I followed him.
"Sit down" he said. His wife brought us some coffee. "What happened?" he asked calmly. I started to explain everything. I don't know why but it felt great to tell someone what I had done.
"Well I guess she lives somewhere in Wyoming but I'm not completely sure." he said with a smile. I nodded and stood up.
"What are you going to do?" he asked. "Find her" I answered optimistic. He shook his head. "It's dark outside. Stay here for the night and you can go tomorrow" he offered. "Are you sure? I don't want to bother you" I replied. He smiled. "I'm positive" the older man said.
"I'm Shawn, by the way" I said when I held out my hand. "George and this is my wife Ava" he answered.
We talked a lot. George and Ava are really lovely people. They have been married for almost 40 years. Isn't that beautiful? I think it is.
Ava called it true love. I hope I'll find my true love one day.
"Shawn?" Ava asked. I looked at her. "Yes" I answered. "You love her right?" she asked. I smiled and nodded. "It's hard to explain. She's just different." I responded smiling. "That's good. Goodnight, Shawn." she said. I smiled at her. "Thank you for everything Ava." I responded.
She turned around. "Ava?" I stopped her. She looked at me and raised one eyebrow. "What if I don't find her?" I asked nervously. She walked towards me and sat down on the bed. "You will find her" she said easily. "How can you be so sure?" I asked softly. "If this is true love, you'll find each other one way or another" she replied with a smile. I gave her a little smile. "Don't worry" she responded.
How could I not worry?
She touched my shoulder and gave me a smile. She turned around and left. I got dressed and brushed my teeth. I went to bed. I couldn't wait to get up in the morning and start my seach. I was excited but also scared.
I had no idea where I had to search her but I had to take the shot. Wyoming was big but not that big. Right?
Oh god. What if I didn't find her? Would this just be the ending? I started to panic.
Okay Shawn, focus! You just have to try. It's almost Christmas. Miracles do exist. I just needed one Christmas miracle. Just one.
It's like Ava said. If this is true love, then we'll find each other one way or another.
And with that in mind, I fell asleep.
True love.
