In the middle of nowhere

Chapter 16 ✔️

P.o.v. Shawn

I started to walk. I had no idea where I was but I liked it. When I was a child I used to walk around and get lost all the time. I always had so much fun in finding my way back home. I felt like a child again.

I walked past a park. I crossed the street. Some children were playing football. They were laughing really loud. It reminded me of my childhood.

I walked towards them. "Can I join?" I asked. They nodded and we started to play. "Yes" I yelled when I made a point. I gave this little boy, who was in my team, a high-five.

After some time they had to go home. "Thanks guys" I thanked them. We said goodbye and they left. I took my coat and took my phone put of my pocket. It's 8 p.m. I still had some time left.

I kept walking until I saw a place where it was pretty crowded. I decided to take a look there.

There was a young girl singing. She sang beautifully. Wow.

"Oh my god you're Shawn Mendes" a girl interrupted her. I laughed a little and just nodded. "I am but don't scream I want to listen to her voice" I said while pointing at this girl.

The girl stopped singing and started to blush. "Continue. Please?" I asked smiling. She nodded and started singing again. I smiled at her.

She ended her song and I walked towards her. "You are really good" I said. She started blushing again. "Thanks" she whispered.

"Do you uh maybe uh want to sing something?" she continued nervously. "Only if you sing with me." I responded. She smiled and nodded. "What song?" I asked. "Uh I don't know the lyrics of your songs? she said ashamed. I just simply nodded. "That's okay. Which song do you know? Give me love by Ed Sheeran?" I asked. She nodded heavily. "I love that song" she answered. "Me too" I said.

I took the guitar and stood behind her microphone and started to sing. After some time she joined me and we sang together. It was really nice. A lot of people were filming us and yelling but I didn't really care. This moment reminded me of the time before I was famous. I used to get in the streets and play.

We ended the song and everyone started to applause. "Thank you very much" I yelled through the microphone. "Thank you" the girl said. "You're welcome. It was fun! What's your name? I'll follow you on Insta." I asked. "I'm Adaline Jones" she  answered blushing. I took my phone out off my pocket. "Done" I said. "Thank you. Can we maybe take a picture?" she asked shy. "Of course" I responded. She took her camera and made a picture and so did I. "I have to go now. It was really nice meeting you" I said. "Bye" she answered with a big smile.

I turned around and walked away. I couldn't stop smiling. I really enjoyed this. I took my phone to check how late it was. "Shit" I whispered. I only had twenty minutes left to walk to the hotel. I started to walk faster.

I sighed deeply when I saw the hotel. I made it, just in time. "Shawn" the manager of the hotel yelled. I forgot his name already, oops. "Oh hi" I said. "Are you ready?" he asked. I nodded and gave him a little smile.

I walked towards the stage. "Hi everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful evening. I'm just going to sing some songs. I hope you like them." I said. I took the microphone and started to sing some of my songs.

Help me, it's like the walls are caving in

Laying on the bathroom floor, feeling nothing

The people started to sing along and dance on the dancefloor. It was always fun to perform.

"Thank you very much for tonight" I yelled through the microphone. I left the stage and walked towards the manager. "Was it okay?" I asked. "They loved it! It was awesome! Great job." he said. I smiled. "Great!" I answered.

"Oh Shawn? How long are you planning to stay here?" he asked all of a sudden.  "I don't know actually. Why?" I answered him. "My cousin is throwing a party for New Year's Eve and he is still searching for people to perform. Do you maybe want to sing some songs there? You'll get paid, no worries" he said. "Yeah sure! Where is it?" I asked. "I'll send the driver the address. Just be ready at 10 p.m. at New Year's Eve. Thank you so much." he answered. "You're welcome" I responded with a smile.

I turned around and walked back to my room. I took my phone and posted the picture of Adaline and me.

I stood up and took a long shower. Today has been amazing. I had so much fun.
But still there is one thing missing...
