P.o.v. Sophia

We drove back home. "We're here" Adam said. I looked outside and saw my house. "Do you want to come in?" I asked. "I should go. My mom is waiting" he answered.

"Thanks for today. Are you going to the party at New Years Eve?" I asked. He nodded. "Great. Me too I guess. I won't find a good excuse that my friends will believe" I explained. He laughed. "Great, I'll see you than" he responded with a smile. "Bye" I said.

I walked towards the front door. I turned around and saw Adam drove away. I took my key and opened the door.

All of a sudden my phone started ringing. "Hi" I said. "Soph! Did you see it?" Emma yelled. "Damn Ems. Stop yelling. Did I see what?" I asked confused. Emma ended the call. I looked at my phone. What was this about?

Fiftheen minutes later the doorbell rang. I walked towards the door and opened it. "Oh my god" Sara yelled. "What?" I asked. "Soph please. Have you been living under a rock?" Emma asked. "No? I just have a life" I answered. Emma rolled her eyes.

"Is someone going to tell me what's wrong?" I asked frustrated. Emma took her phone and showed a video. I opened my mouth. "What... the... fuck...?" I said slowly.
Someone filmed Adam and me and posted the video on social media.

"This is embarrassing" I said quietly. "No this is good. Look at the reactions. Everyone agrees that you are a great singer and this is AWESOME." Sara yelled. I read some of the reactions. They were only positive.

"Wow, this is ... just crazy" I said surprised. "Your voice is really amazing, Soph" Sara said seriously. I smiled at her. "Thanks" I answered awkwardly. "She is right, Soph. You should do something with it" Emma responded. I shook my head heavily. "That's not going to happen" I said laughing.

Emma and Sara have been trying to change my mind for the last couple of years. They want me to join The Voice or start a YouTube channel. I'm really not into these things. I love singing but I don't need everyone to see me. I don't like the spotlight.

Once they signed me up for The Voice. I was so mad at them. I didn't talk to them for weeks and I've never showed up at the audition.

"Do you already have outfits for New Year?" I tried to change the subject. They shook their head. "You have only two days left. You realize that right?" I asked. Sara her eyes became big. "Shit. Ems we need to go shopping" she yelled. "Do you already have a dress?" Emma asked me. I nodded. "Okay let's go. Bye Soph!" Sara said. "Bye" I answered laughing.

Sara and Emma left and I watched the video again. It's crazy that someone filmed us. I shared the video with Adam.

You: you have to watch this 😉
Adam: oh my god? That's us? What how?
You: I don't know. Sara and Emma showed me
Adam: this is crazy
You: I know right!
Adam: did you see that shawn reacted to it?
You: what?
Adam: i'm not kidding. Check the comments

I did as he told me. I checked the comments.

ShawnMendez: she's really amazing. Where is this filmed?

A lot of people reacted to his message. Most people just asked him to follow or message them. Some of them told him where this was filmed. Why does he wants to know that so badly?

You: why does he wants to know where this was filmed?
Adam: maybe he's searching for you
You: yeah right. He was pretty clear that he didn't want to see me anymore
Adam: i dont know 😓 maybe he changed his mind?
You: don't think so.

P.o.v. Shawn

I woke up the next morning and did my morning routine. I took a long and warm shower. I got dressed and ate something.

I looked at my phone and decided to call my mom.

(Shawn: S / mom: M)
S: hi mom
M: oh hi darling! How is it going? Did you find her already?
S: no not yet but I have the feeling that I'm getting closer
M: oh great. By the way have you seen that video of that girl. Aaliyah showed it to me
S: what video?
M: AALIYAH, SEND THAT VIDEO TO SHAWN
S: auch my ears, thanks now i'm deaf
M: sorry son. Okay anyway, go find that girl and bring her here. I want to meet that famous Sophia girl. But be safe okay? I don't want to be a grandmother, at least not yet!
S: MOM!
M: I'm serious
S: we're not going to have sex! Is that clear? Comprendo?
M: hmmm, we'll see about that
S: bye mom
M: bye darling! See you soon

I ended the call and looked at the video that Aaliyah sended me. "That's her" I said surprised. Her voice is amazing. They were really having fun and her laugh... just wow... I couldn't stop smiling.

I looked at the comments and decided to ask where this was filmed. Maybe that would help me in my search.

I couldn't stop thinking about her. Would she even miss me? Or think about me? And who's that guy? Is she in love?

Okay Shawn, focus! We're here on a mission. Don't get distracted by negative thoughts. I believe in faith and if we are meant to be than we'll meet someday. And I truly believe that we are meant for each other.

I was lost in thoughts when all of a sudden my phone started to buzz. Some people had already reacted to my comment on the video. Most people just wanted to get a follow. I sighed deeply. But than I saw that one comment.

Isaforrealx: this is filmed at the shopping center in Cheyenne, Wyoming

The shopping center? I've been there yesterday, right? I sang there with that girl. I googled that place just to be sure.

I've been there yesterday. I'm close now and I can't wait to meet her again.

I'm so close. I feel it.
