Chapter Twenty Eight: Is It Time?

Kai, Tao, Sandra, and Catie were all sitting with the other 10 guardians, eating a huge meal for dinner that apparently Kyungsoo prepared. Catie and Sandra were already 9 months pregnant, and were about to pop any day now.

"Sandra, Catie, slow down. You don't want to choke."

Sandra glared at Suho, wiping her mouth.

"Trust me I won't, I can handle shoving things down my throat. I won't choke."

Catie choked on her food from the shock at Sandra's answer while laughing loudly. Kai put his head down, embarrassed. The rest of the boys gave a weird look, while eating.

"....Well! How's the food Tao?"

Kyungsoo asked, trying to clear the awkward air Sandra made. Tao smiled, a little food still on the corner of his mouth.

"Oh, it's great! I love it."

It was awkward again, and very quiet. Kai got up, taking his empty plate to wash.

"The food was great, thanks."

Everyone looked around, trying not to stare or make eye contact. Even Catie was rubbing her neck, not knowing what to say.

"Weather is nice...."

"Shut up Tao."

Catie shot at Tao, making him stay quiet. Sandra looked down at her lap with wide eyes. She looked back up, speaking quietly.

"Guys...."

They all looked at Sandra with concern, she spoke with tears.

"Um....my water....it broke..."

Kai jumped into the room where they all sat, scared.

"What?! You're water broke?! Oh my God! What do I do! Is there a hospital in the guardian world?! We'll have to go to the human world!? Someone answer me!"

Catie raised her hand, smiling.

"Um...does it help to say mine broke as well?"

Tao got up, already sweating.

"No! No no no no no no no no no no no! I'm not ready! No! Nope! Catie, Sandra! Put that water back in! Take a water bottle, and empty in back into the womb, this is not happening!"

Tao sat on the floor, heavily breathing. Kai walked over, calming him down.

"Bro, stay calm. I'm scared as well, but stay alive at least to have the baby!"

Chen and Xiumin helped up both girls, walking them out the door, getting them away from the stressful situation.

"We'll take you to a nearby hospital. We have one here, Just people don't really go, because it's rare to get sick here."

Chen spoke, while slowly walking them outside. They walked over to Xiumins car, a small smart car actually. Which, didn't really help, but all well.

"We're gonna be in a small ass car?!"

Sandra snapped at Chen and Xiumin.

"It's a cute car! Besides, it helps the environment."

"Just take us! This is painful!"

Catie pulled a little on their arms to go faster. Xiumin opened the door quickly, letting them both in the back. Both boys hopped in the front, quickly starting up the tiny toy car.

They arrived at the hospital, rushing in while Xiumin was calling for help.

"Help! We have two women in labor! Please!"

A nurse ran up to him, while another checked the girls.

"Are you their husbands?"

Chen and Xiumin shook their head, lightly blushing.

"No! The two husbands started having a panic attack, so we brought them here."

Xiumin explained to the nurse. She nodded, and went with the other nurse.

"You guys stay here, we'll prep them in a room."

Xiumin and Chen got up, shaking their heads.

"No, we need to stay with them!"

The nurse pushed them back as they tried to go.

"You can't! Please stay here!"

"No!"

Chen looked over at the door as Xiumin was yelling. He saw Tao, Kai, and the rest walk in. Both Tao and Kai ran up to the yelling Xiumin.

"What's going on?"

Chen explained calmly, while Xiumin kept yelling.

"They won't let us go back there with the girls."

"Why not?!"

The nurse started explaining, frustration in her tone.

"Because they'll be even more stressed out if you guys are all back there! You can go in a few minutes, just let us prep them!"

"I want my husband back here!"

Catie yelled, scaring the doctor.

"Honey, you have to get prepped first. We can't let them in yet."

Catie grabbed the doctors collar, pulling her down.

"You let him in, or else I'll tear this IV out my arm and stick it in your neck and prep you up. And I will too."

The doctor pulled back, fixing the coat collar.

"Um, alright. I'll let him in!"

"All I want is to be with my wife and give her comfort! Just let me go dammit!"

Kai yelled in frustration. A doctor came running down the big open hall to the lobby, yelling.

"Let the husbands in!"

As soon as Kai and Tao heard, they ran down past the doctor.

"Wait! Room number 439 Both are in the same room!"

Suho bowed quickly towards the doctor, smiling.

"Thank you, we'll wait out here."

"Alright Catie, I'm going to ask you to breathe, I will count, and then you push."

Catie nodded, scared and afraid.

"One, two, three, push!"
