Chapter Sixteen: Last Training Session

Tao was shouting different elements to Catie, having her perform them perfectly.

"Lighting!"

Catie let lightning shoot from her hand, attacking the tree outside.

"Earth!"

Catie placed her hand on the ground, and broke all the boulders in front of her.

"Good! Telekinesis!"

She picked up the cracked pieces of the boulders mentally, and threw them across the yard, almost hitting Tao.

"Great, but don't hit me. Wind!"

Catie effortlessly blew air out her mouth, forming a tornado in front of herself and Tao.

"End it!"

She stopped blowing, letting the tornado go down and stop.

"Fire! Just not towards me!"

Catie put her hands up, letting a hoard of fire shoot out of her hands.

"Flight!"

She looked up and pushed her hands down, sending her straight up the sky. She gently let herself land.

"Alright, teleportation!"

Snapping her fingers, Catie teleported behind Tao, tapping his shoulder.

"Hi!"

"Wow, very good Catie. Now..."

Tao took a pocket knife out from his pocket, and slit the palm of his hand open.

"Oh my gosh Tao!?"

"This hurts....a lot.....Healing!"

Catie put her hand over his, and let a light go over his gash, healing it quickly.

"Oh my god thank you! That hurt so much. All right we covered most of them. Next is water."

Catie nodded, and twirled her fingers, letting water spray the whole yard.

"Good. Now perform my essential element, time."

"Well, what should I do?"

Tao smiled, and crossed his arms. He mocked Catie from when they met at school.

"If you're really a guardian of time, make time freeze."

Catie smirked, nodding. She snapped her fingers, letting everything freeze, except for them.

"Impressive Catie! Now unfreeze time."

She snapped her fingers once again, letting everything continue around them normally.

"Alright, frost! Or snow."

Catie closed her eyes, and took a deep breath, and opened her eyes again. Snow was lightly falling upon both of them.

"That's all of them Catie....good job."

Catie smiled, and mentally stopped the flakes falling upon them.

"You know tomorrow is the fight....You will be up against all those guardians. Do you know why a fight against them has never been completed?"

Catie silently shook her head.

"It's because I'm not allowed to help you during the fight. All I can do is sit back and hope you win."

Catie looked confused, shaking her head.

"So wait, I'm fighting by myself?"

Tao nodded, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

"Yeah, but you can do it! I know you can..."

Catie leaned against Tao, wrapping her arm around his torso.

"Yeah....I hope so...."
