Third Person POV

(C/S/B/F = Crushes second best friend - Y/S/B/F = Your second best friend

C/N, C/B/F/N, and C/S/B/F stood at one side of the field, arms crossed, and all looking smug. While on the other side, Y/N, B/F/N, and Y/S/B/F stood. The girls were awkward and shy, while the guys were cocky and confident.

"Whichever team wins buys lunch!" C/B/F/N said, smiling smugly. "C/N's going first."

C/N walked up to the middle of the field and took a deep breath. Nearby, where the school was watching, were the speakers that would play the music that each person chose to sing to the other. C/N picked up his microphone and waited. The music began to spill out of the speakers.

(Feel free to google the songs. I'm just going to put the lyrics)

"I don't want a girl who gets a car for her sweet sixteen
Or spends a stack of dollar bills on a limousine
I want a girl who takes the bus and who wears baggy jeans
Rockin' Nike Airs, what the hell are Louboutins?
Don't want no fake tan, short skirt, daddy's money don't work
Shop until you drop on the town
I want a smart girl, stronger than her father
Someone who will laugh and tryna fit in the crowd (ah-ow, ow)"

C/N looked over at Y/N as he got to the chorus of the song.

"I don't really want no trust fund baby
I like my women independent
And I say to people, "that's my lady"
And we don't need nothing e-e-e-lse"

Y/N blushed and looked at her feet. When C/N was done singing, he stepped back into the group of three the guys were in. The two of them high-fived C/N, and congratulated him for singing such a good song.

"We're totally going to win!"

Y/N stepped into the middle of the stage and picked up her mic. She took a deep breath and starting singing.

"Time's a ticking hearts are running
Think that Cupid's up to something
You ask me how I feel I say nothing
But lately colors seems so bright
And the stars light up the night
My feet they feel so light
I'm ignoring all the signs
I keep on frontin'"

"They ask they bluffin'
I keep you wondering
Keep you hunting for my lovin'
But I crave us hugging
Yeah stay stubborn
'Cause I can't admit that you got all the strings
And know just how tug 'em"

C/N watched her as she sang. She seemed so confident in her skills, and she sang beautifully. She was beautiful, come to mention it-

No, he thought. He shouldn't get so.. distracted. He felt distracted... But he should focus on this first. The contest. He shook his head and watched Y/N finish. The crowd burst into applause, whistling and clapping, as Y/N walked back to her spot on the girl's side of the stage.

C/B/F/N grinned and glared at his ex-girlfriend, which was Y/N's best friend, B/F/N. He walked up to the front of the stage, grinning. Then, the music started.

"Let it out, been building up you better let it out
Say everything that you've been meaning now, I want it to burn
When you tell me that I'm such a wreck
It isn't easy cleaning up your mess
It's like I've got a rope around my neck, she says it won't hurt

But everything you do makes my heart race
I can't even think straight, is this just a game to you?
Reruns every night, it's always the same fight
And I think you should know

I hate your touch, I hate your mouth,

I can't stand every single word that falls out,
