Ethan's POV

As the words left my moms mouth, I had no clue how to react. Sophie and I get to spend a whole month together in the mountains. I mean our families are going with us, but this is gonna so perfect. There's been something really important I've been wanting to ask her.
We ate dinner and talked about our trip. It was still months away, but I couldn't hold in how excited I was. My mom wasn't very sure about Sophie and I staying in a room by ourselves, but I assured her that absolutely nothing was gonna happen.
Other than the announcement, dinner was pretty uneventful. Grayson talked about this girl he was seeing. But as always, we all knew he wanted nothing serious with her. "Her name is Ella." He told us.
But this time, as the words left his mouth, something was different. Like he actually had feelings for her. It was really weird seeing my brother act this way. He normally just focuses on football and almost every month, he has a new girlfriend. But the way he talked about Ella, was almost like the way I talk about Sophie. It blew my mind.

Sophie's POV
We left the restaurant around eight and agreed that we would stay at our own houses tonight. Ethan wanted to talk to Grayson about this Ella girl and I didn't really want to be a part of that conversation. So we got in the car and left.
"I've never seen Gray so excited about a girl" Ethan said. I didn't respond. "I get more excited talking about you though. I always will" he added. I stayed quiet. The car rolled to a stop on the side of the road. "What's wrong babe?" Ethan said. He sounded concerned. A hot tear rolled down my cheek.
"Sophie, please tell me what's wrong" he said as he wiped the tears from eyes. Now they were pouring out and I couldn't stop them. I buried my head in Ethan's chest. And I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tight.
He asked again. "Sophie Anne Miller, what the hell is wrong? Please tell me babe." Now he had more of a demanding tone. With tears still flooding my eyes, I said it.
"It's just that Grayson is talking about this girl the way you talk about me. And we all know that he's just gonna leave her." I paused. "I don't want you to leave me Ethan. Because I'm in love with you. With you and everything about you".
Now he was crying. Our faces were burning red. I finally said it. I told him what was wrong. He had this look on his face that made him look like he was crying partially because he was mad and partially because he was happy.

Ethan's POV
I could tell my face was red. It was hot. And tears rolled down my cheeks. "I can't believe you would ever think I'm going to leave you" I said. My voice was shaky.
"I'm mad that you would ever think something like that. I love you more than anyone could ever love anything in the world Sophie." She smiled. I pulled her closer to me and held her close to my chest. I kissed her head and played with her beautiful brown hair. We stayed there, together, for a while.
Then, she moved. Her sudden movement startled me. But all she was doing, was checking the time on her phone. "We better get going" she said. Then she sat up right and buckled her seat belt. I started to drive home.
We both knew that there was no way we were staying away from each other tonight, so I just drove to my house out of instinct. Sophie doze off a little. And by the time we got there, she was soundly sleeping.
I carried her in the house, to see my parents sitting around the table. It was weird to see everyone there together. Cameron is usually at school and Grayson is normally doing something football related. They looked all looked up, to see me holding the love of my life in my arms.
I gave them the type of look, like don't wake her up. My mom nodded and I carried her upstairs. I laid Sophie down on my bed and went to my dresser to get her something to wear (she keeps clothes at my house). I got out a pair of black leggings and one of my thin sweatshirts (➡️). I laid them beside her and woke her up.

     At first she squirmed

At first she squirmed. Today was a very tiring and stressful day for her. And I could tell she didn't want to wake up. "Soph, I have your pajamas laid out for you. Come on now, put on something a little more comfortable." She slowly got up. I kissed her forehead and moved her hair out of her face.
Once we were changed, I in nothing but a pair of sweats, we crawled into my bed. I put my arms around her, "I'm never letting you go", I whispered and squeezed her slightly tighter. "I love you to the moon and back Ethan" I heard a sleepy Sophie say. "I love you too baby girl" I said. And with that, we went to sleep.
