Luke's POV

"Hey" Paige said, as I made my way to the cafeteria.

"Hey." I replied, smiling.

"So I was thinking, Calum is having a party tonight. You wanna come with me? You know, like together?" I looked down at her and nodded

"Sounds like a plan. What time should I pick you up?"

"Like eight I guess." I gave her a hug before heading off to lunch.

"Okay, see you tonight." I said. The truth is, I didn't want to go to that party. Parties are always too loud for me, and I can't handle all of the people. But I said I would, so I guess I have to.

At around 8:00, I showed up at Paige's door. I was dressed in my usual black skinny jeans, with a green day shirt and a red beanie. When Paige opened the door, I couldn't help but stand there with my mouth wide open. She was wearing a form-fitting black skirt, but it didn't show too much. She looked beautiful.

"...wow." Her cheeks turned a rosy color.

"Is it too, you know, slutty?" She said laughing.

"No. You actually look beautiful Paige. Wow." She shook her head and locked her eyes onto mine.

"Luke has anyone ever told YOU that you're pretty? Because you're gorgeous I'm just saying." I laughed at her remark as I took her arm and walked her to my car, opening the door for her.

"What a gentleman" she said sarcastically.

"At your service ma'lady." I said, bowing down. She smiled and shut the door next to her as I let myself into the driver's seat.

When we got to the party, the smell of alcohol and sweat was overwhelming. Once we got inside the door, Paige and I found our spots at the counter next to a drunken Calum and Michael.

"Hey there Lukey pukey," Calum said.

"Hi Calum" I said. Although I seemed calm and collected, I was really a bit stressed out at the moment. The music was blaring to some shitty pop music and the house was overcrowded. I felt as if I'd pass out any second.

"I'll be right back" I yelled to Paige, as I made my way up the stairs to an empty bedroom. My heart was beating a thousand beats per second and my head was throbbing. I felt like throwing up. I sat down in the corner, where I used the walls to keep myself balanced. I let out a loud yelp as a pain shot through my head. I didn't know what was happening. My ears were ringing, but I could barely hear a knock at the door. I didn't reply. Moments later, a door swung open, and I was faced with a blurry Paige.

"He-LUKE!" She ran over to me, unsure if what to do. My palms began sweating and I was shaking uncontrollably. I was muttering words that were incomprehensible. I felt like I was dying.

"LUKE WHATS HAPPENING?!" I let out a blood hurdling scream as I felt like my body was being shut down.

"My- my p-. My p-pocket" I said. I didn't think she'd hear me, but I soon felt her reaching into my pockets. Her hand emerged with a white pill bottle. She opened it up and poured three pills into her hand.

"Luke , how many?!"

"T- OH FUCK- TWO!" I screamed. I didn't mean to scream at her. It just kind of happened, but she looked unharmed by it. He handed me the pills and I swallowed them quickly, rolling up into a ball. Paige took a seat beside me and began rubbing my back, trying to calm me down.

"It's okay. You're okay. It's over now." She whispered. I shut my eyes as my head began to settle. I was still rocking back and forth, but my shaking had almost completely stopped. Her hand stroked my sweaty hair as I unrolled from my position. I placed my hot palms on the ground to help myself sit back up against that wall. I sighed and looked down at my knees.

"...Luke?" I looked over to see Paige wiping away tears that were falling down her face. The fact that Paige never cried, but was crying right now told me something. It told me she really cared about me. And that seeing me in pain, was painful for her. I placed my hand on her arm and sniffed.

"I'm alright Paige don't worry."

"D-does that happen a lot?" She asked. I sighed.

"Yeah. They're just panic attacks. It's okay. Thank god you were here because that one was the worst one I've had in my life. If you didn't come here at the time you did, it could have been really bad." She wiped another tear from her cheek.

"Could you have... Died?" I shook my head, although I wasn't too sure about the answer to that question. It sure felt like I was dying. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed the inside of her neck lightly.

"I'm okay Paige. Don't cry." She took a deep breath and relaxed.

"I shouldn't have taken you here." She said. I shook my head once more.

"You didn't know. I should have told you."

"No I understand" she whispered. We stayed there for a while, enjoying each others embrace.

"Paige?" I whispered.

"Hmm" I shut my eyes and took a deep breath in.

"Thank you. I lo-... Just, thank you." She smiled into my neck and kissed my jaw.

"Don't thank me Luke. I'm just happy that you're okay." She said. I didn't tell her what I was about to say after my 'thank you.' Because I wasn't too sure if she loved me back.
