In the morning i had an aching stomach and a throbbing headache. I groaned loudly and looked up at my clock. I jolted upwards quickly. Harry would have been proud of my reaction time. It was nearly 8 o' clock. My self defense classes started in about 10 minutes. I knew I was screwed. I had only gotten 6 hours of sleep which was not enough. I debated groggily on whether or not I should just fall back asleep or deal with it and get ready hastily. But, for a brief and painful moment I thought about how hard I had had to push myself to do this class. It made me remember things buried deep in my mind and left me grieving, but in order to have some closure I decided I needed to keep on. In the past three weeks I had accomplished a lot more than I thought I would. Not just physically, but emotionally. Then with brutal force a thought came to my mind. IT WAS SATURDAY! I almost sang. I actually did sing.
I wanted to go back to bed and fall asleep so bad by the sun was awake so I guess I was awake. I couldn't fall back asleep no matter how long I squeezed my eyes shut with the covers over me completely. I got up, bring my comforter along with me wrapped around my head and shoulders. I probably looked stupid but it was Saturday. I went to the kitchen and made myself a cup of hot chocolate since it was starting to get chillier in the morning, even though the flowers outside my flat were still in bloom. As I sat down to look at my phone, the door bell rang furiously.
I was certainly not expecting anyone but I didn't want who ever was out there to continue to make my headache worse. I put down the comforter and grabbed a long cardigan to cover my short shorts and tank top. I shrugged it on and opened the door. There stood an equally horrible looking Niall.
"Niall!? How did you... I didn't give you my address! What are you doing here?" I questioned him.
"Well I wanted to thank you for dropping everyone else and Mae gave us all your address..." He said softly. I half-smiled. "I just was wondering if you wanted to do something today that was relaxing and calm in contrast to last night. I thought fo a moment and then reluctantly gestured for him to come in. He took in my flat quickly because their wasn't much to see. Sadly, I hadn't thought to close my bedroom which was right now a mess because I hadn't tidied it up since yesterday. I ran-walked over to my door and closed it softly as he continued to stare at the fridge.
"Are you hungry?" I asked after quickly catching up to him. He nodded vigorously almost like a small child. In a few minutes we were situated at the kitchen counter with bowls of cereal. Niall ate like he hadn't seen food in years. I took my time and decided to ask him a few questions.
"What did you plan for today?" I started the conversation much to my surprise.
"Well, I don't really know. I just thought we could use some relaxation. Mae told me that you work after classes and that is pretty surprising, considering how draining classes are! And I just wanted to do something different for a change." His answer surprised me. I was having many surprises lately.... I continued on with my cereal as I thought of calm and relaxing things to do and then a particularly splendid thought crossed my mind. The row boats tied to the docks to a lovely and rather deserted lake. It had been one of my favorite places to go before things that made you want to move very far away from all your memories... happened. The lake didn't hold all those memories and so I guessed that it would be another good part of closure.
"I might have an idea of what where we could go today." I said rather timidly. He perked up and quickly finished off his second bowl of cereal. I told him to wait as I went to my room. I traded out my sleeping attire for some comfortable but fashionable skinny jeans, a graphic t-shirt someone had given me years ago, and my long cardigan that felt like heaven to my skin.
