LISSA
In the morning, I was slightly sweaty from my dream, or nightmare. I wasn't sure what to call it. I turned towards my nightstand to find Niall beside me. I jumped up and my eyes fluttered open. I was startled. I had thought about a dream inside a dream. Niall wasn't there when I woke up. But the feeling left me missing him. I wished that I didn't, it seemed to get harder and harder to deny my feelings. I had admitted that I had loved him already, but I had never said it aloud.
It was Tuesday and I had already missed one day of self-defense too many. I got up and got ready. I popped a piece of granola bar into my mouth as I tied my hair back. I wore light mascara with leggings and a regular tshirt. As I drove I listened to music and tried to distract myself from what might happen when I see Niall. The last time I had seen him, I had broken his heart. That was Friday.I was so nervous, but I was pretty damn good at keeping in emotions, so when I walked through the door to our classroom and saw Niall, I did nothing. I didn't flinch or cry or give him a sympathetic look. I had totally turned off. No emotions going in or out. So, I turned to the guy next to me and started talking to him since Mae wasn't here yet. We only talked about new fighting techniques. We actually went over to the mats and tried a few new moves on each other. While doing a manuever, I spun to face the opposite direction after doing a quick dodge to see Niall staring directly at me with a clenched jaw and a cold stare that was drilling into the guy I was practicing with.
I learned that the guy's name was Alex. He was smart and extremely fit. Mae finally showed up alsongside Harry with frazzled hair and swollen lips. I knew that their was something going on from her telling me, but I didn't quite know if they were dating yet or not, But, Mae, of course filled me in on all the details,
"You'll never believe what just happen!! Ok so I coincidently parked next to Harry and he was still in his car. Well, he came over to my car and got into the passenger seat and turned to me. Then he kissed me, like make out kissed me. It was amazing. And he growled and mumbled that he couldn't resist my sweet lips." she was talking so fast. "I think I died in that car. He wanted to touch my hair and he pulled me into his lap, which didn't seem as difficult as it seemed to in a car."
"So are you guys dating yet or what?" I asked. I didn't sound very interested but she was just happy to get to talk about Harry.
"No not yet, but we are going a date." She squealed. Her childish antics made me laugh and I actually felt some happiness. She grinned in satisfaction because she got me to smile. I just shook my head and smiled while she continued to grin like an idiot. Class then started and we did some practice rounds of fighting and some more defense as other partners battled it out to get in the bracket alongside us.
After a couple hours, we called it quits and headed out. I went home exhausted. I had to go to work which would also be tense since Madrid and I had sex and he had felt a lot more than I had. I was considering taking the job as David's assistant to distance myself from him.
When I got to the insurance complex that I worked I sighed and got into the lift. Madrid just so happened to be in the lift with me. Great! He looked over at me shamelessly and I frowned. I was internally begging for the lift to hurry up. I had to break the silence somehow.
"I'm taking the assistant job." I sputtered out quickly. Madrid quickly turned to me and now he was frowning.
"But, we won't have neighboring cubicles anymore. And you'll be beside that dickhead Mr. Letts all day."
"That's the point. After Thursday night, I realize that we aren't on the same page. I don't want you to get the wrong idea and I need you to just be my friend. Ok?" These words sadly reminded me of how Niall and I had first agreed on just being friends. That hadn't worked. But I had a chance to distance myself from Madrid. So I'd take it. Plus it wasn't the same with Madrid, I hadn't felt sparks or tingles when i made contact with him. With Niall even just brushing against him brought me to life.
After another minute of silence the elevator came to our floor. I walked to my cubicle and set my bag down and walked to David's office to go get that assistant job and my next raise.

I now sat in a moderately sized office that was connected to David's and began to sort through some of David's schedules and other types of paperwork. My things were now set on this bigger desk. I was getting used to it.
The work day was now over and I drove home and succeeded in avoiding Madrid. When I got home I ate and sat on my bed and got on my phone. Xander had put his number in my phone and had left me a message. Come over I'm borreeedd. Surprisingly I remembered where he lived and just drove there without asking for directions. I walked in without knocking and find Xander on his laptop.
"Hey Lissa, what's your last name? I dont even know it." Xander asked.
"Oh, wow its Rung." he nodded and I think he actually typed into his phone so he wouldn't ever forget. I rolled my eyes at this. The rest of the day we watched Netflix and I layed on his stomach. We watched a comedy and so whenever he laughed my head shaked and I just laughed because it felt weird. He was becoming a best friend even though the first time we met, I was majorly drunk. This was about the only fun I think I'd have in awhile.
"BE GONE HONKEY!" Whinston from New Girl yelled and I laughed hysterically.
