Chapter 7

     Tazuki POV

     I was walking home from work when I heard a noise from behind me from the shadows. A scratched up oni child came into view. I just ignored the small creature and continued to walk home.

     Time Skip

     After greeting my sister, I went into my room to find the oni child staring at me through my window. " I told you to go to Sora's. I'm still not letting you in." I told him. I closed my curtains and went to take a bath. Then I went to go help my sister with her math homework. Afterwards I went upstairs to do my homework. Just to make sure the oni child wasn't still there I opened my curtains. It was still there. "Fine. Just one night." I said. It'll only be for tonight, right?

     (Y/N) POV

     "What? An oni child followed you home!?" Sora said shocked. "He should be gone by now. I kicked him out." Tazuki replied. "You should've kept it. Maybe it could've made you not be so depressed." I teased him. Tazuki rolled his eyes jokingly.

     A week later, I called Tazuki to see how he was doing. "He keeps eating everything! He is so needy. I didn't even agree to let him stay in my house. Somehow I can't seem to get rid of him. He comes back every night. I don't understand." He ranted. "You really love him then, don't you?" I responded with a tiny smile. "What do you mean? I obviously don't love this thing. Didn't you hear anything I just said?" He argued. "I said that because I heard everything you just said. I mean, you're always so calm and collected. It's the first time that somethings got you bent out of shape." I stated. "That's not true. I really do not like this thing. It's a menace." He replied. "Sure. If you say so." I laughed. "I've got to go. The oni child just fell in my green tea. Bye." He hung up. "Bye." 

    I had a dumb smile on my face that made Cosmo look at me in confusion. I felt accomplished. One of these days, he'll give in and admit that he likes the little oni child.

     An hour later I heard a small rasp at the door. I opened the door to see a tiny oni child. "What're you doing here?" I asked it. Then I got a call. It was Tazuki. I picked up the phone. "Hey, what's up?" I said. "I need help! My- I mean the oni child disappeared and I don't know where he is!" He said in the most panicked voice. "Is that so?" I asked in a teasing manner. "(Y/N), please, I'm genuinely worried." He said still a little worried. "Don't worry! He showed up at my door for some odd reason. It was cute how panicked you sounded." I laughed. "I don't like you sometimes, you know?" "Yeah, yeah. Let's go over to Sora's. I'll give you back you're little friend there. I expect no complaints from you. I'll let him know we're coming over. See you" I hung up with a smile. 

     Tazuki POV

     I sighed, smiled, and then laughed a little. How did I end meeting someone so amazing? I know sometimes she can be a pain but somehow it's comforting? It's really strange how she makes me feel this way. I really like her. "Hey Tazuki, you've been staring at your phone for a while. Oh! Is it your girlfriend?" My sister, Tsukiyo, teased. "Don't be ridiculous." I told her. She peeked over my shoulder to see my phone. "(Y/N)?" She questioned. "Yeah um, she just, uh, a friend from school." I told her. "Oh dear brother. What do you take me for? A fool? It's obvious that you like her, if not love her! You should tell her how you feel." She said. "I do not like her!" I defended. "Are you sure about that? You should've seen the way you were looking at your phone after you hung up." She said back. "I have no clue what you mean." I said "Have some self-awareness, will you? You denying it will only make life harder for you." She said. "I just sighed. She laughed and said, "Say hi to my future sister-in-law for me, will you? Thanks, bye!" She then left my room before I could say anything.
