eaving we go in two cars, getting there we surround the house, Jackson not listening to the order to stay back, insisting he is the one to kick the door down. He always has to feel like he is in control in some way or another.

"Fine" I signal forward, Jackson moving in front of the door, I move standing behind Jackson, the door flying open, and as it does Jackson jumps sideways, my eyes, seeing the barrel of the gun as Max shoots, I prepare myself for the pain of it hitting my vest, only the pain is unreal as I scream and fall to the floor.

I forgot my vest, I was that busy checking everyone else I forgot my own fucking vest. I can see Jackson staring at me, turning lunging into the house, his fists hitting Max, I try to get up to stop him unable to. He needs to stop.

"Stop Jackson" My words quiet as they pull him away, I can't see Max no more, just a heap on the floor, I may have taken a bullet for him, but if he has killed Max, I can't take the fall, they wouldn't believe I did that while shot.

"Marcus" Jackson realising now I how bad I have been shot.

"Where is your vest?" His hands pushing against my wound, shaking me as my eyes close.

"Marcus don't you fucking dare" The last words I hear as darkness descends and takes me. I feel relief just like the times I tried to take my own life, no pain or hurt.

"Marcus, I am sorry" The sound of Maria's voice travelling through me, where am I and why can't I see or speak back? The darkness and silence take over once again.

"Wake up you fool, who is going to tease me about all those pictures and videos?" The voice of an angel, an angel that sounds broken and sad, am I on my way to heaven?

"Are you sure you were okay with today?" The voice broken, Jacksons voice why does he sound so hurt?

"After the other day Alena, you looked broken, I don't want you to be lying if I hurt you again"

Jacksons voice making me wake up more, I can't be dead otherwise I wouldn't hear him, if less he was hurt as well?

Slipping back into darkness I open my eyes, the room too bright for my eyes that have been so used to the darkness. Jackson leaning over me smiling, but looking hurt, so hurt.

"You fool, you forgot your jacket" He shakes his head and all I can do is smile and reply.

"I took a bullet for you, and it would have been worth dying for" My words to Jackson as I fall back to sleep instantly, waking up he is still there.

"You know I would have taken that bullet if I knew you were behind me" Shaking my head at him, he shouldn't be taking bullets, he has a family.

"Marcus" Turning I see Maria, why is she here? I look back to Jackson disgust on his face.

"I will give you two sometime, I will grab a coffee" Nodding I turn back to Maria.

"Why are you here?" Her face looks hurt at my words.

"I mean it, I heard you on the phone about leaving me" Why does she all of a sudden act like she cares now?

"I was a fool, stupid, totally stupid Marcus, I love you and seeing you here clinging to life was a wakeup call, forget James, I don't want to lose you"

She looks sincere, yet I don't know how much I can trust her anymore.

"You lied to me" I look at her and she nods.
