Book Six Chapter Twenty-One

The sound of shouting coming through the door, the two guys stopping turning as it opens, Jackson and Troy stood there, how did they know where we were? 

Alena's small body running back through the door as Jackson and Troy struggle with the men, her arms pulling me.

"You can't die, you said you wouldn't die with me watching" I smile and nod, my eyes closing, I won't die, but I need sleep, my body needs sleep.

"Marcus, I won't leave you till your eyes open" I smile knowing she will be by my side the whole time.

"Alena, he will be fine, go back to the police please" Jackson words the final thing I hear as my body gives in once again, this time it feels different, I know I am not dying, I just wish I was so I didn't have to see her pain when I walk away. 

Waking I see Alena leaning over me, her smile relaxing me as I close my eyes again, I don't know how long I have been drifting in and out of consciousness for, my eyes finally opening and feeling like I am able to stay awake. Alena still by my side.

"Hey, you" I smile trying to sit up, her hand pushing me back down.

"Don't, just stay laid down Marcus" Nodding I agree, taking her orders for once.

"I am glad you are alive, even if it means saying goodbye today, and moving on" I nod, and she looks happy, hurt but happy.

"I am sorry Alena, I didn't want you hurt, I did want you to know and have to face goodbye again" She moves to lie next to me, her fingers stroking my chest.

"I am glad I found out, and I said goodbye Marcus, every day seeing you I said goodbye, to myself. I can walk away and smile knowing you're alive, keeping the memories with me" I smile, grateful this won't be hurting her.

"So today is the day I am changing names and moving again I am guessing" I have been out that long I missed all the time I could have had with her.

"No, that was four days ago, I just refused to the guy who kept trying to get you transferred, insisting he had to wait for you to wake and say goodbye" I laugh, I am glad she did that, I am glad I get this goodbye.

"I love you Alena" Kissing her forehead she smiles up at me.

"I know" Lying we stay quiet, the door opening and Jackson walks in, he looks tired and a mess.

"I saved your arse this time" He laughs sitting down, the door opening once again.

"Marcus" Alena scowls at him which just makes me laugh.

"Boss" He nods and walks out and I know what he is saying with his silent words, looking at Alena I kiss her forehead.

"Goodbye Kitten" she nods climbing off the bed walking to Jackson.

"She promised, so make sure she sticks to it Jackson and try stopping her from recruiting anymore bad boys into her businesses" He laughs, walking to me as he hugs me and they both walk out together. My body relaxing, the door opening once again.

"Right, we are moving to a base in Scotland, new name and identity" He places the papers down, looking at them I nod.

"So, now I am known as Wayne, really?" The name sucks, but I can't go complaining he nods.

"You are getting transferred now. I will see you at the hospital up there next week" Nodding to him, he walks out, sitting up I look around me, wondering if Alena is just waiting out the way to come running back in. I know she isn't, Jackson won't let her because he knows the rules.
