Book Five Chapter Forty-Nine

"Where is yours?" She has to eat, slowly she opens her eyes, looking at me.

"I don't feel like food right now, maybe later" Closing her eyes, I can see something is wrong.

"Alena, look at me now" She opens her eyes looking at me, this is too quick, this shouldn't be happening yet.

"Woah, are you okay? Your eyes Alena, the pupils are tiny" She closes her eyes, then opens them looking confused.

"I feel sick" Getting up, she runs upstairs, I pick the girls up, taking them to their bedroom I place them in the cots walking into the toilet where Alena is now sitting next to the toilet, lifting her head with my hand so she looks at me.

"How do you feel now? I put the girls in their cots" She looks at me, but can't seem to concentrate right.

"I can't see, everything is blurry" she begins rubbing her eyes looking up at me, her body freezes, her heart rate picking up, it is starting.

"Right, you need to sleep. Alena can you hear me, anything else wrong Alena?" She looks at me, closing her eyes and hiding her head. She keeps doing it like she wants the image she sees to change.

"It's not Max" She hides her head, I knew it would be bad.

"No, I am not Max Alena, come on you need to get in bed" I pull her along to the bed, she keeps her eyes shut, clearly trying to hide from the hallucinations. Taking out the phone I need to call Jackson he needs to come home.

"You need to get home now" I don't give him a chance to say anything.

"Alena? What has happened, I set off already so won't be long"

"She's bad Jackson, it's a good job you've already set off, see you soon" I walk over to her, I need to comfort her so she realises nothing she sees is real.

"Alena, it's Marcus don't freak out" I move onto the bed, my arm wrapping around her, she is freezing, shaking and soaked from the sweat, I have never seen anyone so bad before. The sound of Katie crying, I don't know what to do.

"Go to the girls, I will be fine" Her words broke, I get up and walk to the girls trying to get them settled, Alena's screams making me want to comfort her, but I can't leave the girls. Jackson finally walks upstairs looking at me and all I can do is shake my head.

"She sees Max, she keeps screaming Jackson, I will take the girls downstairs" He nods, walking into the room, getting the girls I take them downstairs, feeling my heart break with every scream from Alena, she is reliving her worst memories. 

All day it continues, the girls bedtime finally here. Getting the girls in bed I walk to Jackson and Alena, looking at her she is a mess.

"How is she?" Jackson turns looking at me, he looks just as bad as her.

"I don't know, you know more than me what to expect" I wish I could tell him something comforting.

"I don't know, I have never seen anyone this bad, I can't help but wonder if there is something else also causing it. She should have been awake for ages, yet she wasn't it makes no sense" I can't do anything this time to help

"Should we take her to the hospital?" Jacksons voice quiet.

"No, you will get in shit if they find out she got hold of them pills, give her time to sleep it off" He will, and she will be fine in the long run, just right now she is going through the worse possible things she could ever imagine. 

I go to bed, trying to sleep, unable to, hearing Alena's screams, this has to end soon. Waking up I take the girls downstairs, sorting them some toast for breakfast, Jackson walking down not long after.
