A/N- Sorry this took so long. -_- I wanted it to be longer, but it just wasn't happening.

**Lukas’ P.O.V.**

“Hey Jona, Lukas,” Jona’s friend William greeted us. I had walked Jona up to the playground to hang out with his friend William. And upon getting there I noticed Mark and Dakota were here too. But damn, I was in pain. I took some pain killers but they weren’t doing much.

“Okay Jona, I’m gonna hang out with my friends. Let me know if you’re going somewhere,” I said, ruffling his hair. He laughed, and then ran off with William. I walked over to Dakota and Mark, “Hey guys, sup.”

They nodded at me, “Wassup?” Dakota greeted; man he was such a dork. I shrugged and stuffed my hands in my pockets.

Mark looked over to where Jona and William were sitting, “So Jona and William are pretty good friends?”

I nodded, “I think he’s Jona’s only friend, but they’re pretty close so I guess that’s alright.”

“Shit. Clyde’s coming over here,” Dakota said suddenly. I followed his gaze and sure enough Clyde the druggy was walking towards us with a cigarette in his mouth.  This guy was really annoying. He was constantly trying to get us to buy drugs from him and he was just a bad guy.

“Hey guys, you want a smoke?” Clyde asked, smirking as he looked at us.

“No, go away,” Mark said shortly.

“Aw come on,” he said, slinging an arm around my shoulders, to which I glared at him, “Guys gotta make some money some way.”

“Then get a job,” I muttered, elbowing him and stepping away.

He rolled his eyes and took a drag from his cig, then eyed me with a calm look, “Hey Lukas, I got some weed for you.”

I huffed, “I don’t want any weed.”

He raised an eyebrow, “You sure? Weed dulls pain and I happen to know that my uncle was out drinking with your dad last night. He gets pretty crazy when he’s drunk.”

I could feel the blood rush out of my face but I kept a hard expression and waved him off, “Just get away from us man.”

Clyde grumbled some things and thankfully left the playground. But when I turned back to Dakota and Mark they wore some sullen expressions, but I could see the anger in Mark start to boil up. “Hey, I’m  fine, don’t worry about what Clyde said.”

Mark shot me a glare and it was obvious that he was trying not to snap. Luckily, Dakota intervened before he could. “Does Jona even know what’s going on at your house?”

I shrugged, “I don’t think so.”

“He hasn’t seen you get hit?” Dakota asked, surprised.

“Well, yeah, he’s seen me get slapped a few times, but I suppose he forgets or shrugs it off.”

“He’s gonna be so messed up when he’s older,” Mark said in a cold laugh.

“Excuse me?” I said with a glare. Mark glared right back and took a step closer to me.

“I said he’s going to be messed up. Same as you.”

“How the hell is he going to be messed up?!” I shot back at him. No way was Jona going to be messed up. All I’ve done was so he could lead a normal life.

“Because,” Mark shoved me, “He’s going to think what’s happening is okay. He’s going to treat people violently because he’ll think it’s alright to do that.”
