**Scarlet’s P.O.V.**

“Scarlet! Focus!” Trinity yelled at me. I laughed and spun around to face her from my place atop the slide.

“Okay, okay. But do you not see those clouds? Who wouldn’t get distracted?” I giggled. I’ve always loved clouds and taking pictures of them.

She rolled her eyes at me and pressed a few things on her video camera, “Apparently only you,” she muttered. Trinity had to make some kind of film for one of her classes and asked me to be in it. We were at the elementary school playground.

“Now stop taking pictures of the sky with your phone and pay attention,” Trinity scolded. I rolled my eyes but followed her orders. She instructed me to act out certain things that were really just random. I assumed the video was for her art class, but didn’t feel like asking.

When she had me sit on a limb of a tree I noticed Mark walking over towards us.

“Hey Mark!” I greeted, swinging my legs back and forth. He looked at me oddly but smiled anyway and said hello to both of us.

“So…what are you guys doing?” He asked.

Trinity laughed, “It’s for a project for school.”

“Oh,” he said blankly.

“So what’s up with you? Are you and Lukas still fighting?” I asked, thinking back to that one art class.

“What?” He looked confused but then shook his head and smiled, “Nah, we’re fine. Guys don’t hold grudges like you girls do.”

I laughed and Trinity rolled her eyes, “I don’t hold grudges for your imformation,” I stated.

“Sure you don’t,” He laughed.

“You can get down from the tree now,” Trinity said, looking at her camera. I jumped down and brushed some dirt off of my pants.

“So you and Lukas seem like you’ve been friends for a while, huh,” I said nonchalantly.

Mark nodded and stuffed his hands in his pockets, “Yeah, we’ve known each other for a while.”

I started thinking about all the questions I had concerning Lukas’ life. I know something was going on, but I didn’t really want to believe it was what I thought. Then, suddenly, I was hit with a forgotten memory.

I was in some living room wearing baggy clothes. What looked like a younger version of Lukas was sitting next to me. He was showing me his arm which had bruises all over it; some of them looked like finger prints. I remember how sad his eyes looked. Then he handed me a phone and I dialed 911…

“Scarlet!” I shook my head, blinking a few times, and Trinity was snapping her fingers in my face.

“Whoa! Sorry,” I laughed, “I totally zoned out.”

Mark was looking at me oddly, like he was trying to piece together something, but laughed anyway, “You sure are an odd person Scarlet.”

I chuckled, “It’s a gift.”

**Lukas’s P.O.V.**

The next few days passed by pretty normally. Surprisingly, Bill hasn’t done many violent things to me. And I was grateful, but at the same time it made me paranoid. One time, he didn’t touch me for a week, and then Boom! He just went crazy. Sick bastard…

I opened to front door and noticed that mom was vacuuming the floor. She looked at me and smiled, turning off the vacuum. “Hi honey! Someone from your dad’s work is coming over tonight for dinner, so could you help me clean up a little?”
