“Hey, Scarlet!” Alice shouted in my face.
“Wh-what?” I shook my head and looked at her. We were in my bed room trying to do some homework but I kept zoning out.
She let out an annoyed sigh, “Geez, what is up with you lately?”
I rubbed my eyes, “I have no idea. I think I’m going crazy.”
“Hmm… Oh yeah. I heard Deevy talking about you to some of his friends,” She raised an accusing eyebrow at me. She likes to call Lukas Deevy for some reason. I guess she thinks his last name is as ridiculous as I do.
“What was he saying?” I asked quickly.
She continued to look at me with an accusing stare but answered anyway, “Stuff like how you have no taste in music.”
“PSH! That kid needs to get over that already!” I said, annoyed.
“Get over what?” she asked.
I sighed and quickly told her about the incident after school the other day. She rolled her eyes when I finished, “I’m telling you, that kid is weird.”
“Yeah, I know.”
There were a few moments of silence and then she said something interesting. “Although, his friends did say something that had me wondering…”
“And that was…?” I questioned.
She sighed and did a bad mimic of a guy voice, “Dude stop bitching to us and get with her already.”
My eyes widened at her, “What?”
She held up her hands, “Yeah, I don’t know. But then he started defending himself saying how he wouldn’t go for a girl like you. But it looked like his friends didn’t believe him. But, I don’t know.”
I rolled my eyes, “Whatever. That guy needs to get over himself.”

“Hey, you get the answer to question number four?” I asked Trinity as we sat in class. She nodded and started reading off her answer. I started copying it down when I felt something hit my shoulder.
I turned around and saw a crumpled up piece of paper on the ground. I looked up and Lukas and his friends were snickering from the back of the classroom and Lukas made a motion that said “open it”. I rolled my eyes and did so. On it was a crudely drawn stick figure in a tutu and the words “no taste in music”. I raised my eyebrows. The hell? Seriously, he hasn’t gotten over it yet?
I made eye contact with Lukas, crumpled up the paper, threw it to the side, and flipped him off. His jaw dropped and I turned back in my desk. Trinity was looking at me.
“What was that about?”
I shook my head, “It’s not important.”
After the bell had run and I was out walking in the hallway Lukas ran up to me.
“Hey! Why’d you do that to my drawing?”
“You drew that fail?” I chuckled.
He stuck his chin up in high, trying to look confident, “Its way better than what a first grader could’ve done.”
I clapped my hands sarcastically, “Congrats, you’re better than a first grader. We done now?”
He glared at me, “Why ya’ gotta be so mean?”
“Why ya’ gotta diss my taste in music?” I asked him mockingly, raising my arms in a “come at me bro” motion. By now the people in the hallway were starting to look at us.
He continued glaring, “I could ask you the same thing.”
I rolled my eyes, “Get over it dude.”
His lip turned up in a sneer, “No.”
I chuckled sarcastically, “Have fun being a baby,” and then started walking away.
