Alice leaned over slightly to talk in Trinity’s ear while looking behind me as we sat in the lunch room, “You see Lukas glaring at Scarlet too right?”
Trinity nodded, looking behind me, “I do, I do.”
I rolled my eyes and turned to look at the apparent glarer. Lukas, in fact, was glaring at me. It looked pretty scary too. With his dark hair practically covering his eyes and framing his face, and the pissy attitude that was surrounding him. Yeesh.
I then pulled at my cheeks and stuck my tongue out at him. He shook his head and gave me a confused look. I winked at him and then turned back around. As annoying as the kid was, it was really fun to mess with him.
“So any reason why Deevy seems to have it out for you now?” Alice asked.
I laughed and shrugged, “He thinks I insulted his taste in music.”
Trinity sighed and muttered something like “that poor, poor boy.”
I shrugged again and threw a fry in my mouth, “Do you know why he’s so obsessed with music.”
They both shrugged in unison. “Music is important to you, right?” Alice asked.
“Well yeah, but I don’t get so defensive about it.”
She shrugged again and went back to eating.

So here I am, in the empty school hallway stuffing books into my bag. When suddenly, Lukas walks up to me; appearing out of nowhere I might add. He leaned against the lockers and tried to look at me but wound up looking at the floor. Why does he never look at people’s faces when he talks to them seriously?
“Look, I wanted to apologize for me acting like…I don’t know, an asshole or whatever you think I’ve been acting like,” he muttered.
My eyes widened a little. It certainly wasn’t like Lukas Deeves to apologize. I should probably milk this…
“Hmpf,” I muttered, throwing another book in my bag.
His eyes narrowed a little, “Hey, I’m apologizing here. You should be grateful.”
I raised an eyebrow, “Why exactly should I be grateful?”
He threw his hands up, “Because I’m me and I’m apologizing!”
“And what exactly are you apologizing for?” I said with a smirk.
I think by now he caught up with what I was doing but sighed anyway, “Er. For being a douche bag?”
“And what should you do from now on when someone states their opinion of music?” I said like I was talking to a five year old.
He rolled his eyes and groaned, “Fuck you; accept my apology.”
I laughed and fanned my face with my hand sarcastically, “Gasp! How un-gentleman like.”
He gave me an “are you serious look” and muttered, “Man you’re a weirdo.”
“But I have the most fun!” I exclaimed giving a toothy smile and closing my locker. “But yeah, whatever, I accept you’re apology. Just stop glaring daggers at me, kay?”
He laughed awkwardly and nodded, “Good. So we buddies now?” he held his hand out to me with an out of character smile.
I cautiously gripped his hand in a shake, “Sure.” But I couldn’t ignore the weird tingles that were sent through me upon impact of his skin. His hand was sort of rough like he normally spends his time out in the cold but the handshake itself was still warm. Our eyes held contact and I felt it hard to look away. His eyes were a very dark brown, but upon closer impact I could see a few scattered flecks of amber and black.
He released my hand after who knows how long and I chuckled awkwardly, “Well I’m gonna’ go. Later.” And with an awkward wave from both of us I quickly scurried away.
