Final Shot

Prologue

I'm in love with my best friend but she's in love with somebody else. I've tried my best to make her fall for me but she chose him over me. And there goes her best friend, she was there for me since day one. She was there for me during my ups and downs but I took her for granted and when she finally decided to leave my side that's when I realized how much she means to me.

"Kershia wait!" I stopped her from walking away from me, "It's not that I don't love you... It's just that I'm afraid to lose you..."

"Love is all about taking the risk, Von." She answered in her most serious tone, "It's like playing basketball. If your team is down by two in the final second, you'll take that shot in the three point arc no matter how unsure you are if it will get into the basket."

"I know." I answered back, "That's why I am here standing in front of you because I am now ready to take that final shot. I want to give us a try. I want to work things out for the both of us. Just give me that damn ball to prove myself, I will never stop until I hear the final buzz."

And I didn't expect what she did next, she held my hands and said, "I will take the risk with you, Von. Just promise me that you will never let go of my hands."

"I will never ever let go of your hand until I hear the final buzz."

"No, please just keep holding my hand even we hear the final buzz. Let's try to bring it to an overtime, please don't let go of me no matter how tough it gets."

"I will never let you go and that's a promise." then I kissed her on her forehead.

I was so busy looking forward that I didn't realize that the perfect girl for me was just right beside me. I am so thankful that fate made me see her.
