I guess it wasn't a great idea to let Avni stay with me after all.

I looked up from the hallway towards my kitchen where Avni stood behind the countertop, still poking at the noodles that got stuck with the pan, after getting burnt.

She almost burnt down my kitchen.

Almost.

I thought she knew how to cook when she urged me to rest, while she can make the dinner for us.

But this girl doesn't even know how to cook instant noodles!

I stood up from the couch making my way towards her into the kitchen, who was still focused on the pan, even though smoke was evident in all over my house.

As I came close, she looked up at me, "Its still edible, right?" she looked unfazed by all these, "Let me serve. Wait, where do you keep the plates?"

I gulped hard.

"Avni, I was thinking..... let's order something instead. What you say?"

She quickly nodded, turning off the stove as she moved out of the kitchen, making her way towards the couch in the front room, "Fine. I'll have chinese."

I breathed a sigh of relief .

20 minutes later, we were sitting at the dinning table with two bowls of ramen, which Avni ordered.

I pretended to listen as Avni continued to rant over some random topics, while I continued to eat my noodles.

Suddenly, she slammed her hand on the table, almost toppling my bowl over me. She jumped up from her chair, "Sneha, you and Bincy were at the café of Vegas mall, right?! When Druv saw you both??" Her voice sounded so chirpy, as if she had just found an bowl of ice-cream that had been hidden from her for days.

I slowly nodded, trying to figure out what was going on inside her brain.

And I literally saw a light bulb going on over her head. She rushed to my side, pulling me up from my chair, "We need to leave. Now."

Avni dragged me out of the apartment, locking it behind and shoved me into her car, ignoring all my squawking.

I frowned at her, as she sat at the driving seat beside me, "Where are we even going?"

"You'll see." She declared and started the engine.

After a while we reached in front of the Vegas mall and all I can say is that, thankfully Avni's driving is better than her cooking skills.

She moved out of the car, once she got it parked. I followed her as she made her way into the café.

It was almost the closing time, hence there weren't any other people in sight except a boy sitting behind the counter.

He rose from the stool as he heard the bells ringing at the door, revealing him the arrival of unexpected customers at such an hour.

Avni pulled my hand, guiding both of us towards a casual table. "Look, I'm gonna go to their office and check out the CCTV footage. You'll have to distract this boy while I'm gone. If he finds out that we are breaking in, we both will be into a big trouble." she whispered to me, leaning over the table to minimize the distance between us.

And before I could respond to her, or ask her to back off the mission, the boy came at our table, handing us the menu. Avni straightened up in her seat, while I awkwardly smiled at him.

She abruptly stood up from her place, "I'll be just back from the washroom." She winked at me. I could tell she was really enjoying this little mission she has assigned herself into, acting all like Ethan Hunt.

But I was super nervous. What if we get caught! We'll rot behind the bars.

My eyes followed her figure as she made her way into the small passage at the backside of the counter.

The boy, who still stood there waiting for the orders, looked down at me, while fiddled with the pages of the menu card. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Avni sneaking into a room labeled as "Restricted Area". A cold sweat broke out on my forehead.

The boy got somehow suspicious of my state and followed the direction of my gaze to look behind him.

But before he could turn back to look, I blurted out, "Will this drink be as sweet as you?" pointing towards a random beverage at the menu card.

He turned back towards me with a peculiar look, "Excuse you."

I mentally facepalmed myself. I suck at these things for real.

But then, the boy got hold of the situation and figured out what I was trynna do, as he broke into a smirk, "Who says I'm sweet?"

All men are the same. I sighed.

I looked up at him, supporting my face on my palm, rolling a strand of hair in between my fingers, as I pulled out my most flirtatious look, "Really?"

I didn't had to do much to be honest, he was already into the game as he tried to suggest me some beverages while passing some compliments. I just had to respond to him with smiles or fluttering my eyelashes.

Whilst our conversation, Avni came back, strolling her way towards her and exclaimed, "Pack two black coffees with no sugar, please."

The boy turned towards her and frowned, obviously despising her to interrupt our conversation. He looked back at me, "I thought you prefer sweet."

"She does. But her husband has diabetes." Avni announced again, looking straight at him.

And I almost cracked up.

But the boy looked like someone had run a car over him.

"Actually we are visiting our hubbies at their office. They work so hard, so we though to surprise them with coffees to keep them motivated at their jobs." She continued.

The boy slightly nod, giving me one last look of betrayal and somehow hurriedly packed two black coffees. After paying, we thanked him and got out of that place.

As we sat back into the car, Avni took out her phone, switching its screen on and handed it to me to have a look.

She got the footage of that CCTV camera of that day.

She murmured, still focusing her eyes on her phone screen, "Their computer password was their café's name. Dumb people."

I couldn't believe she did it. My eyes observed the footage as it displayed the whole area inside the café, while me and Bincy were sitting at the far most corner and Bincy playing out his evil games with me.

Now, finally we have a strong proof against that monster.

I hugged her tightly, "Thanks a lot."

She hugged me back, smiling and stroking my back lightly. "We aren't going to make out in the car, right? We can do it back in your apartment, if you want." she teased me.

This girl! She never gonna change. But somehow, I wish she doesn't either.

I pulled away from her quickly, while hitting her on the arms. "No thanks, I'm good." I embarrassingly responded.

She shrugged, smiling, "Your loss."

I laughed and she drove us back to my apartment.
