maybe i'll stay -
two years later
"no, stephan's just taking the piss." will mumbled into the phone as gripped tightly onto his seat belt. stephan's driving was a crazy as his personality, every turn was like a punch to will's arm. "mum, really, i don't have a girlfriend!"
they were heading to a nearby cafe to meet up with will's mom. they had been gone all week on spring break. "stephan, for fucks sake man, slow down." will snapped.
"he likes cock, miss!" stephan yelled, he sharply turned into the entrance. flying past unaltered folks.
"jesus christ, stephan shut up mate!" will shouted. "no, mum, i'm not gay!"
"are you sure, daisy has a gay son that is very handsome. he's a lawyer though, probably not your type." the women on the other side said, she watched as the young waiter poured coffee into her mug.
stephan found a parking space in a matter of seconds. will felt dizzy as the car stopped, he really hated when stephan drove. they both exited the car, stephan locking it with a push of a button.
"we're here." will swung the door of the cafe open. once inside, he quickly spotted his mother and darcey. hanging up the phone, he smiled widely at her. stephan followed closely behind him.
"so, daisy's son?"
"mum, stephan was just being a little shit." will groaned. "plus, lawyers aren't me type."
"those blokes make good money, you idiot."
will ignored the ginger besides him and ruffled darcey's fur. "they allowed her in 'ere?"
"mhm, as long as she's on a leash and by my side." his mother said, she opened up the small half cream and poured it into her coffee. "there's a really nice boy about your age working here, will."
"oh?"
"i should come apply 'ere." stephan looked around, the cafe wasn't too full. a totally of four tables being used.
"weren't you working at tesco, dear?"
"he got fired for stealing their stella."
"oh?"
"took 'em a while to notice."
will chuckled, shaking his head. "you're a mess, mate."
"here comes the nice boy." will's mom said as a boy with curly blonde hair approached the trio.
"hello, how may i get you started?" josh smiled, clearly a bit forced. darcey hadn't caught his attention until she began to sniff him. he looked down, this time he seemed genuinely cheery. "hey there, pretty girl."
"her name's darcey." will's mom smiled.
"i knew this lad in year 6 that had a dog name darcey." he said. "called her fat girl. look jus' like her too."
will raised an eyebrow, smiling. "what school did you go to?"
"roseberry. one with the huge field."
"that's where we went." stephan laughed.
"are you taking the piss!" josh laughed. "will lenney?"
"joshy!"
"stephan!"
joshy laughed. "and stephan!"
"oh man, what're the odds? i thought you moved to bromley?"
"we did!" joshy said. "my parents are still there, i came back for uni."
"you live on campus?"
"no, me and my girlfriend have a flat together."
"wow."
"will still hasn't left the house." will's mom said, taking a sip of her coffee.
stephan scoffed and will gave his mother a look. "mum!"
joshy laughed again. "oh, it's okay. bet it's for good reason."
it was because of george. "yeah, i'm actually looking for a flatmate."
"keep tellin' him to come move in with me and my lads but he don't wanna!"
"they film videos for youtube, rather not get involved."
"keep telling him to pick up a camera, he'd be good at it."
"i'd love to catch up later, could i get your number."
"oh yeah, we can go out for some pints."
joshy nodded. "sounds good!"
-
"so, whatever happened to george? you both still talk to him?"
will's ears perked up, putting the cold glass of beer down. "uh, he got sent to some private school." stephan answered for will. "but heard he's doing great." bloody liar.
"good for him!"
no.
