the girl from hilary tower

"lenney!" will's eyes popped open, he shot his head up. there was still a bit of dried up drool on the side of his lip, his hair a mess and his eyes barely open.

"yeah?" he managed.

"it's nearly 9, mate." the dark girl snapped at him. "i wanna go home."

will let his head dropped as he rubbed his eyes. he had knocked out on the break room's wobbly table.

"sorry, didn't think i'd fall asleep." he muttered.

his co-worker, jess, rolled her eyes. standing by the door. "why the 'ell are you so tired?"

will yawned, shrugging. "dunno. uni's been kickin' me ass all week."

jess shook her head, pulling her id and the store keys over her head. she hung them on the coat rack that stood next to her. her hair pulled away from her face, she turned to will once more.

"go easy on yourself, mate."

will smiled at her. "don't worry 'bout me, jess. you can go can go home, if you wan'." he offered. "i'll close."

"you sure you'll make it home?"

will chuckled. "m'bloody positive."

jess ruffled will's hair, pulling his chin up with the other. "i'm serious, lenney, don't overwork yourself."

will just smiled again. he could make no promises. the girl soon left, instructing will to shut off the warehouse lights as well. she left with a finale hair ruffle, disappearing into the city of london.

will looked around the empty record store. he felt exhausted. once he turned off the warehouse lights, he went to fetch his jacket. throwing the over sized black jacket on, he was on his way. before locking the doors, he made sure he had everything he needed.

will would've ordered an uber right away if it wasn't for his grumbling stomach. he was starving. since it was a friday, teenagers poured into the store and kept the workers on their feet. will had no time to eat. when he finally sat down, he fell asleep on the table. jess refused to wake him up, hoping he'd be up by the time she finished tidying up.

looking down the semi-business street, will could see the bright, yellow m that stood at the end of the street. that was his destination. he plugged his headphones in, shoving his phone in his back pocket. he left one earbud in and the other hung off his body.

as soon as he crossed the street, the smell of pastries hit his nose. he smiled warmly, feeling his stomach thunder. he was pulled out his dreamy state by a foreign man storming into a car right in front of him. as he passed the clearly pissed off man, something knocked against the side of his head. whatever had just hit him knocked his earbud out, causing him to snap his head towards an average size women. her hands clasped over her mouth in shock.
