stephen and sophie -
will tried to take all his relationships and friendships slow, usually. george was the only time that will made an exception. it took years before stephen became will's official best friend. that being years after george was gone. he would never admit that to anyone, though.
sophie was different, and will couldn't pin down what it was about her that kept will interested. it wasn't long before they started talking. they had phone calls for hours, even if neither of them spoke. at some point, she was walking will through an essay. they texted regularly, only ever stopping when will had uni or work. she was a mess and a half, but she was something different. she pulled will out of his odd routine. will tried convincing himself that she was his new george andrews, but he knew he'd never meet another george.
however, with will's weird schedule, they had to keep postponing their second date. the day george called will, he and stephen had decided to take sophie out for lunch. will was off for the rest of that week, and straight after uni they headed off to pick up the american girl.
"good afternoon, mr. lenney."
will's attention turned to the doorman. "hello-"
"jasper." the young man smiled. "ms. figueroa has been waitin' for you. i'll just 'ave t'see an id."
"you've seen me before, lad."
jasper shook his head. "does not matter, mr. figueroa and mr. albertson strictly order for me to ask for identification. nothin' against you, t's jus' my job."
will didn't argue any further, simply pulling out his id. he looked back at stephen, the ginger's eyes were on the paintings that hung on the colored walls. will smiled, watching as stephen's excited eyes met his again.
"this is a real nice place."
"'ere you go." jasper handed the id back to will, as well as a small key. "you are to bring t'is back."
"thanks." will then turned to stephen again. "c'mon."
will lead stephen towards the elevator. as soon as the golden doors closed, will shoved the key into its place. he turned it gently, the lift beeping as the key locked in.
"wow."
"wait 'ill you see the flat." mumbled will to his friend. "it's massive."
"so, who exactly is this lass?"
"she's from san diego, m'pretty sure." will began. "she's studyin' to be a teacher, she's engaged-"
"engaged!"
will sighed, nodding. "yeah."
"you're shaggin' an engaged lass, you dirty bastard."
"not shaggin' anyone." will rolled his eyes. "she's like a sister to me, oddly. plus, after what happened with audry, i really jus' wan' to focus on other things."
