Chapter 25

Losing a child was the hardest thing I've ever been through. It was extremely hard on Ezra because he's never lost a loved one.
"Ezra," I knocked on the door.
"What?"
"Can I come in?" I asked. I heard the door unlock and the knob turn. His face was all puffy and red. Ezra pulled me in for a hug, it was long and tight. I stroked his hair softly and kissed his shoulder.
"She was fine." He started
"We don't have to talk about this."
"No, I want to. The ambulance people told me she was fine, and so did the hospital." His face twisted.
"It's not your fault,"
"But it is."
"No it's not."
"Yes it is!" He stood up, and I grabbed his arm.
"Please stay here with me." He sat back down beside me.

I decided to move back in with Ezra. His mistress was no longer back in the picture, but I would never forgive him for that.
"I love you."
"I love you too." I smiled. The phone rang with an unknown number. I tilted my head and picked up the phone
"Hello?"
"Are you Danielle Johnson's parents?"
"Yes." I said confused.
"Danielle is awake and asking for you guys." Said the female voice. I dropped the phone and Ezra was by my side
"What is it?" He pleaded
"Danielle's..."
"Danielle's what?!" He demanded
"Alive and asking for us."

We rushed into the car and nearly caused an accident trying to get to the hospital.
"Slow down babe!" I shouted. He didn't listen much, but he slowed down a little. 

We reached the hospital and was running to the front office.
"Danielle Johnson." Ezra Said quickly. They shook their head and let us go. Ezra was first in the room to see her
"Dani!"
"Daddy!" She yelled. He ran over to her and gave her a giant hug. I walked in to see her and nearly cried.
"Babygirl."
"Mommy!" I walked over to her bed and gave her and Ezra a giant hug. She's been in a coma for three months.

The strange doctor came in to check on her.
"Hi Danielle." He said with the same angry voice.
"Hi." She said with a smile
"Your vitals and everything look great. How are you feeling?" She stick her thumb up. He forced a smile on. Something was up with him, and I still couldn't put my finger on it.
"We want to keep her here another two nights just in case something happens."
"Alright." Ezra Said, and the strange doctor left.
"Somethings up with that doctor." I whispered in his ear.
"Why?"
"He's very strange and I don't know why. But I'm telling you, he's up to something." Ezra wasn't really concerned.
"Honey, he's a doctor, give him a break." Why isn't he listening to me?
"Whatever." He was making me very angry.

We were with Dani for the whole day until closing hours.
"Alright baby, we gotta go. We'll see you tomorrow." We gave her goodnight kisses and then left.
"Ouch."
"What is it?" Asked Ezra. I was still mad at him for not listening.
"Nothing." I said. He turned to look at me.
"Tell me."
"I have this pain in the back of my neck and I don't know what it is." He turned me around, and moved my hair out of the way so he could see.
"It looks like something's in there." He told me.
"That's what I thought." He took me to the front office and requested for a nurse to check my neck out.

"Wait in this room while we get a nurse." Said the one person at the desk.
"What do we have here." Said a familiar voice. It was the same nurse that checked me out last time. When she looked up, a look of panic crossed her face.
"I still have that pain in my neck. Are you sure it's still nothing?" I asked with a tone in my voice that told her I knew she was lying. She gulped.
"Well let's have a look." She examined my neck with shaky fingers.
"Well?"
"It's nothing, I promise. You can go home now." She said. Ezra looked uncomfortable with the nurse there. She smiled, walked out, and shut the door quietly.

I looked at Ezra and then the nurse.
"That's her isn't it?"
"Bay. Drop it."
"Oh my god. You're unbelievable." I got up and walked out the door.
"I think she's starting to catch onto this plan." Said a voice.
"Just keep ignoring it, and she might stop coming here about it." Said a familiar voice. I looked around the corner and it was the nurse and doctor. I cleared my throat and they both turned to look at the noise. When their eyes found mine, they started to panic.
"Eavesdrop much?" Snapped the nurse.
"Get around much?" I snapped at her. She turned bright red.
"Her boyfriends the one you were-"
"Shut up!" She yelled. He pinched the bridge of his nose.
"How much did you hear?" He asked
"What's this plan?" I demanded. They both were quiet and walked away.
"That's all I get?" I called, and there was no answer.
