Chapter 23

"I need O negative blood stat!"
"On it. How much?"
"As much as you can grab. Hurry! She doesn't have a lot of time." The light was a lot closer then before. I was a couple of feet away from it, it was getting brighter. I was running towards the light, when it started getting a little darker. Danielle started to fade and so did the light. There was a great wave of pain going through my chest. I felt it over and over. Danielle disappeared and so did the light. My whole life was going through my head, I was seeing everything I've ever been through or done. Ezra and the girls were the last thing I saw. I was in the dark after their faces disappeared, and I could only hear a couple of voices. I heard a heart monitor flatline for about 20 minutes, and I also heard a voice I didn't recognize. He was angry and frustrated, I could hear it in his voice.

"Dang it. Dang it!" He yelled. I stopped feeling pressure on my chest.
"Time of death," the man cleared his throat "17:43." I felt this jolt go through me, and then that same heart monitor that once flatlined, beep back to life.

I later found out that it was my heart monitor the whole time. I was the one that died and then came back to life. I was in this world that I've never seen before, but even in my coma. It wasn't dark or white, but I couldn't see anything. I couldn't move, or speak, I was paralyzed, and I was absolutely terrified. No one was here other than myself. I felt so lonely.
"Bay." A voice said. I looked around but saw nothing. I called out to it, but no one heard me.
"Bay, honey, it's me Ezra."

"Ezra." I said, but gave up because he couldn't hear me. What was the point? I was alive but couldn't say or do anything.
"Please come back to me." He cried. I wanted to reach out and wrap my arms around him, but I couldn't. I felt trapped and it was hard to breathe. The nothingness was gone and bright lights took over.
"Bay?" I turned and Ezra's face was in front of mine. I was choking on something that I couldn't make out.
"I need a doctor!" A couple of nurses came in followed by a doctor.

They took the tube out so I could breathe.
"How are you feeling?" Asked the angry voice from earlier.
"I remember you, you had an angry voice earlier when you were bringing me back to life." His face got red.
"Sorry about that." He apologized.
"It's fine, you brought me back to life."
"I guess so." He said confidently. We had a conversation about what all happened.

"I'll give you two some alone time." Said the doctor walking out the door.
"Danielle's alive." He breathed. I wiped a tear away, and smiled. He was crying and wrapped his arms around me.
"Danielle's alive."
