*LUCA POV*

"Papa done?"

Nakoa asked as I stirred the honey into my tea while standing in front of the kitchen counter with my bright-eyed son sitting in front of me on the countertop, waiting for the sweet scones to finish baking.

"Almost Koa, but first it's your brother, now you? Why aren't you tired?" I asked my little one and he clapped his hands together, tilting his head as if he didn't understand my question.

Just seconds after Matthias and I had finished our gym session, we heard someone walking around upstairs and came to the swift realization that Nakoa was now a climber. Refusing to go back into the nursery and not wanting to start a fight, I had magically convinced my husband to let me keep him for just a bit. I always love spending one on one time with my little guys and he finally agreed.

"Papa love?" Nakoa asked, holding his chubby little hands out to ask for cuddles. I took a sip of my hot peppermint tea and picked him up, nudging my nose against his soft brown curls and taking in that sweet baby scent. He quickly wrapped his arms around my neck and kissed my chin, tickling me with his sweetness.

"You're so cute baby," I cooed as I the timer beeped and I put down my mug. Leaning over the oven with a silicone oven mitt to take out the vanilla scones. Nakoa quietly watched me as he sucked on his pacifier and snuggled while I moved the scones to a drying rack for the nanny to have a little welcoming present to remind her of home when she came in.

I rocked my baby on my hip as his little fingers toyed with the collar of my shirt and he shivered a bit.

"You cold baby? Here," I walked over to the couch and grabbed one of the throw blankets, carefully draping it over my son before going back to sitting at the kitchen island. I looked upstairs and listened closely in the quiet, hearing the shower still running.

I swept my messy wet hair to the side so I could see as I turned on the tablet that served as our hub and started playing cartoons, sneaking a small scone and breaking it.

"You want some Koa?" I whispered and he nodded, taking the tiny scone from his hand and popping it in his mouth in place of his pacifier.

"Mmm," he giggled and rubbed his tummy as a sign that he really loved it and I kissed his chubby cheek. Together, the two of us watched Thomas the train while I waited for him to fall asleep.

"What's that Koa?" I pointed to Thomas and he pointed with me.

"Choo Choo Twain," He tried to say and I gave him a tight squeeze.

"That's right baby, it's a train," I told him and he yawned letting me know he would be out like a light in just a few minutes. He nuzzled his head against my chest to watch as I kept sipping my tea while rubbing his small back.

I tilted the tablet up and in the darkness, I could see my baby had finally fallen asleep and let out a small sigh of relief. Thankful that I could now snatch another scone without having to share it with the cookie monster.

The front door opens and I'm surprised Thomas didn't come through the garage but was ready nonetheless, only to find him rushing in with the poor girl looking horrified behind him.

"You were only supposed to pick her up from the airport, not scare the living daylights out of the girl my love. What happened?" I asked him only to be silenced by his frantic lips meeting mine. Something about his touch scared me and I thought, it couldn't be worse than what we've already been through together.

"She knows what's going on and understands. Where's Matty? Have you seen the news?" He asked and I nodded upstairs, watching as Thomas threw off his jacket and turned on the living room television.

"He's upstairs and I was just watching Thomas with the baby, what's going on?" I asked him again and he crossed his arms as a breaking news banner ran across the screen and I paid attention.

"Shit," He muttered and Samantha walked over to me.

"Why hello Samantha, sorry we're not meeting under more pleasant circumstances but welcome to America," I whispered, not wanting to wake the baby.

"It's quite alright sir, you're Mr. Luca Jackson correct? We interviewed together, but I believe we can talk later. What's going on in the news is quite important sir," She said and I couldn't hear what the newsman was saying but it kept clipping back and forth to shots of parades of rainbow flags marching in Washington.

"Would you like me to take the babe up to his cot for you?" Samantha volunteered but I shook my head.

"No it's alright, why don't you get settled into the guest room just over there. I'll put him to sleep," I told her as I got up from the stool.

"Could you get Matty while you're up there? And hurry," Thomas demanded and I didn't question it as I brought Nakoa up the steps and to the nursery where now all four of my little ones were fast asleep.

Slipping out of the nursery I walked past our bedroom and knocked on the door.

"Matthias, something's happened," I announced as I peeked my head in and caught him naked, as he put on a soft shirt and shorts.

"What does he need? What happened?" Matthias asked and I looked back, seeing the president now displayed on the television downstairs and Thomas was now pacing.

"Something to do with the government," I told him and his eyes opened so wide I thought they might pop out of his skull.

"Fucking hell, that stupid dipshit for a president. What did he do now?" Matthias groaned as he slipped on his fuzzy slippers before coming downstairs with me. Thomas turned away from the tv when he saw us and quickly wrapped his arms around us.

"Thomas, what the fuck is going on?" Matthias asked and Thomas squeezed us so tightly that I couldn't breathe until he released us from his grip.

"The president just annulled gay marriage. Even though we weren't legally married to Luca when we came back here, now you and I are no longer married because we're men," Thomas told us and I couldn't help but look up past his shoulder were right after our mudroom was a large wooden sign that read 'this is US' along with an est. of the day the three of us married and became one. Below that was a list of all our children's names hooked onto our growing family.

But besides that was a framed certificate of marriage with not two but three names on it courtesy of the Island of Bridgeport along with a framed photo of the three of us on our wedding day, together and joined as one.

Now, according to the government, we were split back into three due to a single chromosome we couldn't control.

"What are we going to do?" Matthias whispered and I rested my head against Thomas' shoulder as we huddled together.

"We're going to make it through this guys...we always do,"
