" Tell me how you feel over and done with

Like your life is a map with no compass to guide "

2010

We heard the click of the camera and spun around. "stop it Mali", Calum shouted.

"I have a kiss-pic" She giggled and the picture came our of her Polaroid camera. She took it an ran away with.

"Calum. Get the picture!", I laughed.

"I'm not a dog, but anyway, that was not okay from her"

"Just get the picture" With an "okay, okay" he ran after his sister and quickly got the picture, because she wore high heels, which were not good to run with.

"Got it", Cal said proud as he came over to me and showed me the picture. Somehow it was cute. My brown hair fell over my face and you couldn't see me. Our faces were slightly tilted and Calum had a hand in my hair and my hands were around Calum's neck, pulling him down. What you couldn't see in the picture was, that I stood in tip toes to kiss him. In the last year, he grow even more. And I nearly stayed the same height. Any way, Calum always said it was cute.

"We'll Keep it", he said and put the picture into his jeans pocket.

"I like your dress by the way", he complimented me.

"Thank you", I said blushing.

"Spin around for me?" He held a hand out for me and I took it, giggling. I spun around once and Calum laid a hand on my waist to steady me. He was such a gentleman, you don't heave that much at our age. "Now you're finally fourteen." He chuckled. He liked to tease me about the half year he was older than me.

"I'm just a half year younger! I'll life longer than you"

"In your dreams", he chuckled and gave me a warm hug. "Happy Birthday, boo" He laid his chin onto my head and chuckled. "You are still so short"

I gently pushed him away. "I'm not short. You're just a giant!"

"Not really, Chrissy. I'm average"

"Average? You are not average. Maybe average for a skyscraper!"

"Skyscraper? That's your lamest yet", he laughed and tickled me.

"Stop it, skyscraper! That's your new nickname now, tough luck!" To my luck he stopped tickling me.

"No", he pouted, "i don't want to be named skyscraper. What can I do to convince you to call me Cal again?" I remained still. "A hug?" He gave me one of his warm, comforting hugs. "A kiss?" he have me a sweet kiss on the lips. "What do you want? Tell me!"

"Cal, I still want answers. I still have not a single answer to my questions. I want to know why I can't speak to strangers, or even people I have seen so often. Like your sister. I haven't said one word to her!"

"Boo, I promise you we'll find answers, some day, you know what this is all about"

"Some day? I don't know how long I can wait. I waited my hole life, fourteen years. I just somehow feel ... lost, if you understand me. It's so hard"

"I know, Boo, and I can only imagine how that feels, but try to be patient. I know someone who had a fear of talking to. Not as bad as you, but it was pretty bad. I could introduce you sometimes"

"Thank you, Cal, you are the best", I said and stood on my tip toes to give him a kiss onto the cheek.

"I know"

"Prick", I muttered under my breath but I made sure Calum heard me.

"Let's go over to your parents, I don't think they like it if we stand that far away from the others" He winked. My parents got pretty good friends with Calum's Mum, that's why they were all here for my birthday party.

We went to my parents but got stopped by my aunt Missy.

"Hello Honey", she said, she once came from America but moved here two years ago. She still had her accent. I hated American accents, they were just annoying and hurt in the ears. (A/N : No offence please!) "Is this your boyfriend?" I nodded. I couldn't really talk to her either, a few words maybe, but not a real conversation.

"I'm Calum" He held out his hand an Missy shook it.

"I'm aunt Missy, or just Missy, you can call me what you want" Calum and Missy smiled until I told Calum that we had to go to my parents.

"Goodbye", Calum and Missy said and I overheard Missy saying "He's Australian!" I chuckled a bit and we went to my parents.

"Hi Mrs Steward", Calum said.

"I told you to call me Linda, Calum" She smiled.

"Come here Chrissy" My mum said and pulled into a bone-breaking hug. "My little sunshine is growing up" I blushed a bit. I found it pretty embarrassing.

"We are going to eat now", my mum said and led us to the table that stood in our garden. It was beautifully designed. The table was hung with a white tablecloth and some candles were placed on it. Around the hole garden were paper lantern that illuminated the garden in the growing darkness.

"It's so pretty mum", I told her and gave her a peck on the cheek.

"Thank you, darling"

We sat down. Me next to Calum and my aunt Nicky.

The food was delicious. I didn't know how my mum did this, but it was amazing.

"The food is delicious Mrs Steward", Calum said and my mum blushed.

"Thank you Calum. But please call me Linda"

"I'm sorry Mis - Linda"

The evening was beautiful. After we ate I got presents. From Calum I got a really pretty necklace with the date we got together engraved onto it. I thanked him and gave him a kiss. But my mum was watching so I quickly pulled away. She just winked and I blushed heavily.

"Mum, can I sleep outside today?", I asked her. It was a wonderful night. The stars and lanterns light up our garden beautifully and the grass was dry. There were no clouds in the sky and I loved to sleep outside. It was just peaceful and you could forget about the rest of the world, even if it's just 'til dawn.

"Okay, but I'll get you a blanket" She came back with a blanket, a pillow and a tea.

"Thank you mum" I smiled and she smiled too. "Good night"

"Good night sweetheart"

I ladies down and looked up in the sky until I heard something next to me. I didn't bother until someone laid down next to me. I jumped a little but soon felt Calum's hand at mine. "How long have you been here?", I asked and gave him a bit of my blanket so he wasn't cold.

"I didn't even went home" He chuckled lightly and I turned to face him. "I wanted to tell you something. I wanted to tell you this for so long. You- I really like you. But not like 'liking' more like 'loving'. What I want to say is : I love you" He paused and I froze. I couldn't speak. "You don't have to. I would understand if you don't feel the same. I just wanted to tell you, I loved you from the moment I saw you. You came into that class, shy and so. And I felt special after you told me that you could only talk to me. I think I just have to much hopes", he rambled.

"Stop Calum", I laughed and placed a finger onto his lips.

"But-"

"Shh. I love you too. And don't think I just say that because you said it"

"Really?" He looked excited, as if he always hoped for this answer. I didn't answer, I just kissed him.

This was one of my most perfect memory of him.
