Chapter five

I spent most of my free time at my sisters house. I was so in love with little Audrey.

Over Christmas, we were all driving back to North Dakota. We were taking Allison's car. Anthony drove and I sat up front. Als, was in the back so she could be with her daughter.

The trip took longer with a newborn baby, but being back home was so relaxing. I slept in my childhood room and spent lots of time with my little sister and brother. We went to an outdoor rink and played a game of hockey. Our cousins and parents joined. It was fun to just play and not stress about anything.

For Christmas Eve we had everyone over and we did the same for Christmas morning. I got Audrey a baby Blackhawks jersey and Allison put it on her and said, "She'll be your superfan!"

The next day I said goodbye and went to the airport to fly back to Chicago. Once I landed, I walked out to Sharpies car and he dropped me off at my house, we basically just talked about our Christmas and the game tomorrow.

I was going to be in the NHL all-star game in Los Angeles this year in January.

"Did you see who is going to LA with you?" Sharpie asked

"Please tell me it's not Patrick."

"It's not me.." He said laughing as he knew I meant Patrick Kane

"Fuck my life." I said groaning

Sharpie laughed and said, "It will be good bonding time."

"He's the last person on the team I want to spend four days with.."

"Well, you're taking one for the team."

Before I knew it, it was time to go to the all-star game. Patrick and I were packing up our bags and bringing them home.

Tazer was picking us up and dropping us off at the airport to fly to LA. That night I packed everything I was going to need, including my fancy dress for the banquet.

I couldn't fall asleep... Before I knew it, Tazer dropped us off at the airport. We carried our hockey bags, sticks, and regular team travel bags into the airport. We checked our hockey bags and sticks and went through security. I facetimed my sister and we talked about Audrey mostly.

"Are you going to be on your phone the whole trip?" Patrick asked

Oh this was going to be so much fun...
