Ashley's POV:
Allison came in and she pulled me off the floor and she asked, "What are you doing? Are you going to Colorado? Are you staying?"
I didn't respond... I just cried.
I didn't move for hours.. Allison was taking care of the kids. Donna and her husband were here four hours later and she rushed into my room to hug me.
"Ashley, I'm terrified and scared to death... But you need to eat.." Donna said hugging me and then leaving the room
Donna had brought in food that Allison made me.
It had been hours and there was no news about the plane. My mom was on her way to Chicago to help out with the kids.
It had been three days and I was going crazy. There was nothing that I could do. I just had to wait.
I was sitting on the floor with my daughter and she asked, "Where is daddy?"
I didn't know what to say.. "Daddy's plane got in an accident and they are working to find daddy.."
"Daddy okay?"
"I don't know Lauren.. I pray that he is, but we don't know anything... But no matter what will be okay. I love you so much.." I said
She crawled into my arms. I wasn't going to lie to her and tell her everything was fine, because it clearly wasn't fine.
The next day, the team came home from their road trip and had to go about their normal routine. The doorbell rang and there was half the team at the door. Tazer and Q see there and I saw them and Q hugged me and then Tazer hugged me.
The team all piled into the house and each one hugged me.
The guys hung out for a while, but they had to go to the United Center for their game tonight.
It was late, the Hawks lost. It was around 2 in the morning when I drove to the United Center. I went to the locker room and saw that Patrick's bag had been unpacked. I grabbed his jersey, held it, and cried I to it.
People from the plane crash were being found, in fact, Miller had just gotten home. He showed up at my door and I saw him and I asked, "Where is he?"
"I don't know.. He was sitting across from me... The plane was going down and it broke..." Miller spoke
"Leave..." I said pissed and I added, "You should be the one who's still missing and Patrick should be here. Why didn't you sit where he was, damnit!"
I started crying and I immediately said, "I'm so sorry, David... I didn't mean that.."
He hugged me and he said, "I know.... It should be me.. Patrick has a family to come home to.."
"No, I'm happy you're okay and safe..."
David Miller stayed for a few more minutes and the team all stopped over throughout the next couple of days.
Another week passed and I couldn't function anymore. But my world was shattered when I received a call I never wanted to get.
"Hello.." I said
"Hello, this is Ian from Colorado Memorial hospital.. There have been parts of the plane found. We need you to come identify a few bodies. We have found thirty six passengers."
My heart shattered and I dropped my phone and Donna picked it up and I started packing.
I got my bags in the car and Donna and Pat were coming with me. My mom was there to watch my kids. We made the long drive to Colorado and it was quiet most of the way. We drove straight through, taking turns driving.
We went to the hospital and I was his proxy, meaning I was in charge of all his medical decisions. I hugged his parted before going in.
I walked into the cold room full of dead bodies... I was shown each face and had make sure it wasn't Patrick. Some of them weren't recognizable, I knew they weren't Patrick...
I was at the last two and I came across a man who had the same color as Patrick and I froze..
It was the last person... They lifted the sheet and I started crying. I ran out of the room and Donna and Pat came and hugged me and Donna lost it and her husband followed..
