As I was returning from the throne room this morning, I was unfortunate enough to encounter the one person whom I really did not want to see. "Brother." I hissed as Sebastian blocked me from walking into my room.

"Ah, sister. I believe I saw your fiancé with Sir Valendon's daughter as I was leaving the kitchens." I tried to sidestep him. "One more year. Isn't it exciting?"

I lost it. "If you're here to be a bloody fool then get out of my face." The both of us had no patience for civilities with each other. His face darkened and he immediately lifted his hand. I closed my eyes and flinched in instinct.

"Propulso praesum!" I opened my eyes and saw Lena rushing at me as Sebastian flew a good ten feet away from me.

"How dare you!" Sebastian stood up and charged at Lena with a glowing blue light in his hand.

My eyes widened as I immediately shoved her behind me. "Praesum!" The shield formed again, and deflected the spell.

"Stay out of this, sister." He spat at me.

"Don't you dare harm my sister."

He laughed humourlessly. "You dare go against your blood-related brother for some excuse of a fake princess that Father took in?"

"Would you like me to tell Father that you tried to attack me first?"

"Why you insolent-"

"Leave. This is a royal order." His eyes narrowed at me but I didn't back down. A minute later, he finally stormed off.

I turned to Lena. "You should've just let him hit me."

"Never." Her eyes narrowed. "You wouldn't let him hurt me."

"There's a difference, I'm used to it." I groaned internally when I said that.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing, don't worry." I pushed past her gently and entered my room. She followed behind me with her arms crossed over her chest. "That's not attractive, stop it." I muttered.

She uncrossed her arms and walked over to me. "What do you mean you're used to it?"

I stared her straight in the eye after a moment. "You don't really think he's never hurt me before."

She appeared to be at a loss for words. "Sister, I-"

I waved my hand to cut her off. "It's fine. It is whatever it is." She purses her lips but did not comment further. "Are you here to ask me about attending the ceremony?"

"No, I said I'd respect your decision regardless of what it was."

"I've decided to go." She raised an eyebrow at me in surprise. "But we need to thoroughly prepare first." I continued. "There are also two spells that will I need to teach you before we go. Just in case there arises a need to use them."

"We have six days until the ceremony."

"You already know some attack spells and defence spells. But the two spells I intend to teach you are a memory spell and flash."
