Elliana
I woke up in my mate's arms. Her scent surrounded me, her arms were clasped tightly around my waist, and her face was buried in my hair. I sighed in content. She began to stir and I whined in dissatisfaction. "No..."
I heard her chuckle softly and I reluctantly turned to face her. To my surprise, she smiled at me and kissed my forehead. "Good morning, my Sweet Girl." I giggled and hugged her, forgetting that we were both in our panties. I blushed when our chests made contact. "Cute." She mused.
"I don't remember the last time I slept so soundly." I commented, curling up in her embrace.
"Neither do I." She kissed my forehead. "Are you hungry?"
I shook my head. "I don't wanna move."
She chuckled and pulled me closer to her. "So tell me a bit about yourself?"
I hesitated. "You already know about the basics, I assume. You wish to know about my injury and...why I am heir apparent instead of my brother." I stated the last part quietly.
"Only if you are willing to share."
"I'm willing to talk about my injury, but I would like to avoid the topic of my brother for now. I would rather not relive..." I trailed off, my voice wavering.
She trailed an arm down my back comfortingly. "I understand."
I paused for a moment before starting. "My injury is relatively new. It happened about a decade ago."

Third Person POV
"Markus!" Princess Elliana exclaimed happily in the common lands. The young girl suddenly frowned when she did not see the guardian of the common lands. He was always there to greet visitors.
"Excuse me?" Princess Elliana turned to see a young boy, about her height, with jet black hair and bright, blue eyes peering at her. "Are you looking for Markus too?"
Elliana nodded. Aside from Markus, she had never encountered another supernatural in the common lands, but for many centuries ago when Markus' wife, Alexandra, was around.
"He's always here when I arrive, but I for some reason he didn't come today. I'm worried." The boy commented in concern.
Elliana frowned in concern, nodding in agreement. "Perhaps he is simply preoccupied?"
"Maybe," The boy did not sound convinced at all. "But I want to check anyway, just in case. Are you coming?"
Elliana hesitated for a mere moment before nodding. "Alright."
The boy turned and began to walk in the direction of Markus' house. "I'm Daniel, by the way."
The young princess smiled. "I'm Elli."
"It is a pleasure to meet you." The boy smiled genuinely at her. Elliana froze in surprise for a moment. She had never met a friend outside of Cael, but for Markus of course.
