Elliana

"Wake up, Elli, please..."

My mind was hazy, but I could make out a muffled voice calling me. I tried to open my eyes and they felt like they had weights attached to them. I groaned.

"Elli!" The voice grew more urgent. I jerked suddenly in surprise and my eyes finally fluttered open.

"L-Len-Len-" I tried to speak, but she shushed me and placed a gentle hand on my forehead. For whatever reason, my throat felt very dry.

"Madame, what's the matter? I've already cast the blood replenishing spell." My sister's frantic voice met my ear. I followed her gaze to see Consort Emilia sitting by my desk, peering at a book with great concentration.

I immediately attempted to sit up, but quickly lay back down when a rush of nausea hit me. "Ma-mada-"

Consort Emilia noticed and quickly made her way over to my bed. "Sweetheart, don't move." She ordered. She turned to Lena. "You've done what you can. She needs rest and food. Speaking of which..." she reached out to the side table by my bed and retrieved a bowl.

Lena slid an arm underneath my shoulders and gently pulled me up. Consort Emilia gestured for Lena to lean me against the headboard. Picking up a spoon, she filled a spoonful of the liquid and held it to my mouth. I opened my mouth and she fed me. I winced as the strong taste of the soup hit me.

"It will help you heal so I expect you to eat it all." Consort Emilia stated firmly. "I took the liberty of picking the herbs and preparing it myself for you." I gave her a grateful look as she continued to feed me.

"Th-thank you," I was finally able to utter after awhile, "for taking care of me."

"Well your mother wasn't going to." She muttered almost inaudibly, but I still heard.

"What happened?"

"Elli, I don't think-" Lena started.

"No, tell me." I insisted.

"Queen Arabella came by your bedroom to discuss something with you earlier. When Princess Charlene informed her that you were not well, she simply walked away." Consort Emilia fumed.

"It-it's okay." I coughed. "I won't pretend that I'm not used to it." She stiffened at this.

She felt my forehead gently and changed the subject. "You're still running a fever."

"Wha-what happened to me?"

"Well, Princess Charlene found you unconscious in a forest...she said that your mate was trying to give you some of her blood because you were injured?"

"She gave me her-" I began to hyperventilate.

"Relax, I stopped her before she could." Lena said softly.

"Thank you." I replied gratefully. "I can't imagine what would have happened if..."

Lena placed a hand on my shoulder. "I took you back here, but I couldn't find any injuries on you. I tried the general healing spell, but that didn't work and I couldn't summon the healers because then Father would be alerted and we would have to explain about your mate. I was terrified that you would d-that you wouldn't be okay, so I called Consort Emilia." She rambled.
