Ahem - so I apologize for not posting this last week. I thought I did. But that gave me time to go back and edit a bit. You see, this chapter is rated mature - also, it's pretty meaningful and somewhat a turning point in the story.
That being said - there is a sex scene. Please be mature, or skip it.

Elliana
The Elders had decided to stay until the new moon. While I absolutely adored it when my grandfather came for business visits, along with him came...Aunt Renalena.
My aunt was, to be direct, a pain in the backside. She had a problem with every little thing and criticized me constantly on my "unladylike behaviour". The only somewhat positive side was that she despised Sebastian just as much, if not more. Whenever he was in her presence, she would turn away and wrinkle her nose as if she had smelled something foul.
I was also rather certain that my aunt was spying on me. Every time I stopped to have a private conversation, unless it was in my room, she would mysteriously appear. She would play it off as a coincidence when caught and I could not confront her without creating chaos among the royal family.
It took several days before I dared to risk making a trip to the mortal world again. It was easier to apparate directly from my chambers as it did not involve any encounters with the guards. Yet, it still carried an inherent risk. In light of recent events, Father trusted me enough to allow me to visit the mortal world, but only for the purposes of preparing for my future responsibilities. If the trips became too frequent, suspicion would rise.
It was during times like this that I truly wished I could complete the mate bond simply so that I could communicate with Demi in my head, but that would come at a price of losing my magic. When we could risk it, Lena would play messenger for us.
On day four of not seeing my mate, I was determined to take action. "What do you think you're doing?" I forced myself to freeze and turn around at the sound of the cold tone.
"Aunt Renalena." I addressed in an even, disguised tone.
I was met with a cold and calculating sneer. "I said: what do you think you're doing?"
"Going to my room." I met her stare, unafraid.
She glanced at me up and down. "You are either returning from somewhere or leaving to go somewhere. I would guess the latter."
"Why are you following me?" Her eyes immediately narrowed, clearly in disbelief at my nerve to question her.
"You have some nerve to be making these accusations-"
"Likewise." I interrupted coldly. "I don't appreciate your accusations either. So unless you have evidence to back up your claims, excuse me." I turned back around and continued to my bedchanbers, ignoring the death glare that my aunt was, no doubt, sending at the back of my head.
I had surprised myself quite a bit. I guessed that it was my mate's influence, but months ago, I could never have imagined speaking to Aunt Renalena this way, regardless of the measures that she took to make my life miserable.
I quickly hurried into my room, letting out a sight of relief when I saw that Lena was already there waiting for me. I closed the door behind me and made sure that it was magically locked. I quickly grabbed the cloak on the edge of my bedpost and tied it over my shoulders before walking over to her. "Alright, we've been over this plan. I'll be back by tomorrow morning latest. I trust that you can pull this off."
