If you thought that the last like, seven chapters were the Silmarillion, guess what? They weren't.
So within the published Silmarillion, there are a few bonus features. Tolkien started out with the Ainulindalë and the Valaquenta which are like...mini prologues if you will. Then we have the actual Quenta Silmarillion, and then we have two other little chapter thingies that are a part of the like, physical book that you can pick up, but aren't technically the Silmarillion.
Literally nothing this man did was straightforward. I'm okay with that, though, because that's more reading to do. And more talking. I just think it's interesting to note that.
It's also interesting to add that you basically can't read this book without having 18 genealogy charts and the LotR wiki next to you or you won't know what's going on. Now lucky for you, there's me.
Sooooooo lucky.
And I'm telling you right now, you're reading a book with a title that starts with Everyone Dies so don't, under any circumstances, get attached to the characters.
Just don't. I learned the hard way, and there's no saving me. Learn from my pain. Don't make the same mistakes.
Oh boy, I'm gonna need a box of tissues.
Buckle up, guys, it's gonna be quite the ride. Let's dive into the Quenta Silmarillion.
And this still isn't your full update for tonight, I'm just a freak when it comes to organizing documents.
