After a long night of thinking, I think I found a loophole. I could join the Avengers but piss them off so much that they kick me off the team! That way, I would be granted my freedom and I wouldn't have to do anything I wouldn't want to. In fact, causing trouble is something I happen to love doing.

I walked into the kitchen and found Tony sitting at the island.

"Hey red."

"I'd like to speak to Director Fury."

"I'll give him a call."

"Thank you," I turned around and started walking back to my room when he called my name again.

"Red?"

"Hm?"

"Cheer up. I know you aren't a fan of this place, but try to make the best of it. I'd let you go if I could, you know that."

"Thank you Anthony. I don't know how'd I stay sane without our little chats."

"Glad you enjoy them as much as I do."

"Just call him for me please."

"I will."

"Thanks," I turned around and went back into my room. This was gonna work.
-
A few hours went by when there was a knock on my door. I'm gonna take a guess and say it's Natalia.

"Come in," the door opened and to my surprise, it wasn't.

"Glad you came around. Welcome to the team," Nick Fury.

"Glad to be on it."

"What made you change your mind?"

"An overpowering urge to do the right thing," I wanted to vomit at what I was saying right now.

"Interesting. First meeting tomorrow."

"Perfect. Can't wait."

"Also, quit hiding in here. You're one of them now."

"I'll try," he turned around and walked out. A few minutes later, I did the same.

"Welcome to the team Nikita," Natalia said with a smile.

"Thanks."

"Since you're the newest member, you should meet the other new recruits. Wanda and Pietro Maximoff," two people my age waved at me from the couch.

"Nice to meet you two, I'm Nik."

"Nice to meet you Nik," Wanda said.

They looked familiar for some reason. No, they aren't from the red room, but I might've done something for or to them.

"Where are you two from?"

"Serbia, what about you?"

"Volgograd, Russia."

"Nice, I like your accent," Pietro said.

"I like yours too. What are your stories?"

"Kidnapped and they did some funky stuff with our heads."

"That's always nice," they both chuckled.

"What about you?'' Wanda spoke up.

"Natalia's younger sister from years ago. I'm like 76."

"Really? You look like you could be 17."

"Guess I aged well."

"Guess you did."

"Glad we're all friends now, Nikita, can I talk to you?" Tony asked.

"Sure," I followed him down the hallway and into his room.

"An overwhelming urge to do the right thing?"

"What? 8 weeks really changes a person," I snorted.

"What's your game here?"

"Piss off Nick enough that I get kicked off. At least I tried," I laughed.

"Nikita, he's not going to let you go. You'll know too much. He's going to kill you."

"Not if I get away first."

"You haven't been able to get out of here."

"I haven't tried to."

"You hate it here. You want to."

"I wanted to, but where would I go? I have no American money and I'm... 17."

"You were using me," he gasped sarcastically.

"I'm afraid I was. I could've left whenever I wanted to. I just didn't want to that much."

"You could've stolen my credit card."

"True, I don't steal from friends though. Unless I really want to."

"Glad to hear that."

"I did steal a wad of cash though."

"When?"

"Few weeks ago. We weren't really friends."

"How much?"

"I don't know, enough for when I get out of here that I can live... comfortably."

"How did you get it?"

"I found it."

"Where though?"

"The safe in the closet."

"That's locked though."

"Security camera footage revealed your password."

"How did you think of that?"

"I'm a spy, don't forget," I winked at him and walked out of the room.

Maybe my life didn't suck so bad after all.
