We landed in Germany and wasted no time getting through security. Fury brought me to my designated area and then left with a simple goodbye. Good. Security lead me out to my designated vehicle and I was off. That was really fast. I hated dealing with security, they were so handsy.
We got to the safehouse and I unpacked everything. It was dark, really dark, and I was really tired. Security had to stay at the house with me, and it was pretty annoying, not gonna lie. At least I had my own room, if I didn't, that would be a total deal-breaker.
In the morning, I'd be getting to work right away. I could do what I want when I want, but I had to get a long ass list of stuff done. My assignment was a maximum of six months, if I finished before, I could have more me time before my term ended. That's why I'm trying to get as much done as fast as possible.
My list had around a hundred things on it, give or take a few. It was mostly killing people, which I've done before. It never gets easier though. I never want to do it, but in this world, it's either kill or be killed. I feel bad, but I don't. I never kill innocent people, ever. I'm not that much of a monster. If you get on my hit list, you must've done something very wrong.
Hundreds of names were on my list, each with their crime next to it and where to find them. I could take my time with these poor people, or I could finish it real quick. I don't know if the Germans knew I was here as an assassin, but they knew I was here. I had to get through this list without being caught by anyone. If someone saw, they'd have to die too, innocent or not. Once they see something, they aren't innocent anymore.
My other rule was no children. A child couldn't do anything so wrong they don't deserve to live. And, if they did, they learned from their parents. I knew women could be horrible, so that didn't necessarily matter as much to me. I've seen women kill, steal and torture. I've been held hostage by women. They are no better than a man, nor worse. Simply equal.
Actually I lied, women and men aren't equal, but can be equally as bad. Had to clear things up. People all have a dark side, it just depends on who likes to bring it out. My first assignment was simple. Rooftop work. I decided starting small and working my way up was the best option. I was a bit rusty but I'm sure the thrill would come back the second I get on that roof.
There was no specific order that I had to do these in either which was a plus as well. I think if I do three to six assignments a week, I should knock out this list with a minimum of two months to spare. Very nice. Of course, something may go south which is what I could use that extra time for. Or I could shove pretzels in my face. Whatever happens happens I guess.
