Chapter Twenty Three

Gerard approaches Quinn at his locker, at school. Quinn's been avoiding him, Gerard really misses him, misses his sarcastic and cheerful drunk.

"Why are you so mad at me Quinn?" Gerard asks sadly, tucking his red hair back behind his ear, bummed.

Quinn looks at him, pausing for a second before sighing softly, just hugging the red head tightly, making Gerard relax a little.

"I'm not, I'm sorry" Quinn says, sighing softly into Gerard as they hug.

Gerard hugs Quinn tighter, seeing as he obviously needs some reassurance or comfort, hating to see his best friend so distant, especially from him.

"Get a room you two" They hear Jeph's voice joke, and the two away to see him, Dan and Bert.

They go throughout the school day, Gerard and Bert constantly flirting with each other, but keeping it on a down low so no one say anything.

"Come over tonight, you can sneak in through the window" Gerard suggests as him and Bert walk out of school together, wanting him over tonight.

"I'll be there" Bert winks, making Gerard laugh, blushing at Bert's charm.

Getting home, Gerard walks in to see Donna finishing up dusting off the t.v stand, obviously just cleaned.

They talk for a minute before Donna gasps, "Oh Gee, I forgot to give you your gift! C'mon, come with me"

Donna leads Gerard into the kitchen for privacy, handing him a small bag to open, making Gerard chuckle.

Opening it, Gerard smiles happily when he sees new lipglosses, new mascara and even an eyelash curler.

"I know Bryan is hard on you for wearing make-up and you're embarrassed at the store to get it" Donna chuckles, supportive.

Gerard smiles, hugging her tightly, so excited to try them on tonight, rarely getting new glosses.

Going back to the living room, they sit, Gerard just bites his lip, excited to try them on tonight.

"What's going on?" Jay asks walking into the kitchen, making Gerard hide it in his pocket, it being private, not wanting Jay of all people to see.

Gerard just walks by him shrugging off his annoyance, upstairs, getting a head start on his homework for the week.

After few hours pass and his parents go to bed, making Gerard call Bert, telling him he can come over.

Gerard locks the door just in case and opens his window, Bert able to climb on the ledge and up to get in.

"We have to be quiet, I don't want Jay hearing us talking and become sherlock Holmes and investigate" Gerard says, a little nervous if Jay coming in.

Bert chuckles at Gerard's geekiness, sitting at the edge of Gerard's bed, hearing Gerard's gasp.

Gerard pulls a small bag out of his pocket with excitement, "I forgot, look what Donna got me!"
