Monday

Gerard takes an apple from the basket on the basket on the table before saying bye to Donna and Bryan and making his way out the front door.

Wearing a white shirt with an oversized knitted open sweater with black skinny jeans. His first day at a public school, nervous for what it'll be like, but hopeful to make friends.

Gerard walks opens the gate, walking out without looking, only to find himself standing into someones way, running into him.

"For fucks sake-" He hears the familiar voice from dinner the other night, seeing he stepping in-front of Bert.

"I'm sorry, I didn't look" Gerard quickly apologizes, only getting a scoff in response and Bert continuing to walk by him, down the sidewalk.

Gerard closes the gate back before running to catch back up, "I am really sorry, it was an accident"

Proceeding to ignore the red head walking beside him, Bert continues walk down the sidewalk on the way to school.

"Stop following me" Bert says, glaring to Gerard at his left as he proceeds to walk beside him to school.

"We're going to the same place, plus we're both new" Gerard says, in hope they can be friends and hell each other around school.

"Don't care, leave me alone" Bert says and Gerard sighs, standing still letting Bert get a bit ahead of him before continuing to school.

Getting to the school, Gerard manages to find his way to his locker, grabbing the necessary books for the next few classes.

Gerard goes through the rest of the day, trying to be nice to people but no one seems to even notice him, getting lost after every class.

He walks down the street by himself with a cigarette between his fingers, letting out a sigh as he thinks about the fact he'll have to put up with getting lost for a while until he understands the rout of the school.

Gerard sighs putting his cigarette out before walking into the house after a long day of school, long day of public school.

Public school definitely isn't all it's cracked up to be, people aren't very nice here, but most of the teachers are really sweet to him!

Jenna and Bert are here, Donna and her must have spent the day together since the kids were at school.

Gerard's late getting home due to getting lost in the halls, unable to find the exit at the front of the school, stuck walking home in the dark, the cold.

"How was your first day of school sweetheart? Did you have a nice day?" Donna asks seeing Gerard walk in.

Gerard just sighs putting his bag down, taking a seat on the couch with them, "It was fine"

"Well that's not very convincing, what happened?" Jenna asks seeing Gerard's not as cheery as he usually is.

"Nothing happened, just a long day of getting lost around the school" Gerard says shrugging.

Jenna looks at Bert who has his arm around his mother, "Bert, did you not help him?"

"He didn't know his way either, anyway, I didn't have many classes with him" Gerard covers for him.

Gerard actually had most classes with Bert, who ignored Gerard the entire day, but doesn't want to get him in-trouble.

"Oh, well I'm sorry today was tough. Hopefully tomorrow will be better sweetie" Jenna says.

Gerard smiles moving the arm and putting the stylus on the record as it spins, David Bowie filling his silent room.

He goes to the mirror grabbing makeup wipes, getting the residue of the bit of mascara he wears during the day,

His red hair damp from just out of the shower, he softly sings along to Changes as he sits in-front of the mirror.

Finishing up, Gerard stands going to his chair by the window, pausing when he sees Bert through his.

He sees Bert and 2 other boys, then the legs of another sat on the bed, them talking, laughing.

Gerard sighs sadly closing his curtains, he was really hoping they could be friends, but Bert doesn't want too.

But that's not going to stop Gerard, maybe if Gerard's just nice enough he'll come around, maybe the move was just hard on Bert?
