"I can't, I've got things to do" Gerard says, wishing he could. Everyone continues to talk, Gerard remaining quiet as he tries to calm himself from the symptoms as they grow more intense as time passes.
Bert watches as Gerard's beautiful hazel eyes are closed, his finger tapping the lunch table. Bert takes and hold the hand that's been continuously tapping, wanting to help calm him.

Throughout the rest of the day, Bert worries at how out of it Gerard seems, distant, wobbly when he walks, seeming extremely disorianted.
Bert wishes they could be seen together, so he can take care of Gerard when he's like this, when his Epilepsy acts up, especially in public. Help him walk, keep to Gerard's side in case he trips or needs assistance.
But Gerard isn't ready to come out yet, which Bert respects. So for now, they'll just have to sneak around and he'll have to help Gerard the best he can.

Sitting, Jenna and Donna talk, Bert waiting for Gerard to come downstairs, wanting to see the beautiful boy he's lucky enough to call his own.
But he doesn't come down. He must not know they're here yet, he should be down soon then, right? Maybe he's getting ready, it takes Gerard so long to fix his makeup.

"No, I thought he was upstairs getting ready, is he not back from the cemetery yet?" Donna asks stopping what she's doing, looking worried.
"No, he knows he should be back, he's not answering his phone- dammit, I've got to go help Joe really quick, can you go check on him?" Bryan asks, extremely worried.
"I can't, dinner's on the stove- Bert, would you be a dear and check on Gerard? He's at the cemetery down the street" Donna asks.
