midnight conversations

Taehyung fell asleep right when he came home.

When he woke up it was morning. He checked the time on his phone and saw one specific message

Ellie

Hi Tae,, sorry for not answering, I was sick yesterday and went home, I'm staying home today as well, dw

Taehyung shook his head at the usual 'dw' she always said. "Don't worry, my ass" Taehyung said. He got out of bed, took a quick shower, put on his uniform and went downstairs.

"mom?" he said surprised by his mothers presence this morning. "Morning sweetheart, I completely forgot to tell you that I had the day off today". The kitchen smelled like coffee and waffles. Low music played from the speaker in the window.

"sounds nice" Taehyung answered sitting down by the kitchen island on one of the bar stools. She put a plate with three waffles in front of him. "Today you are going to have a real meal" she said and smiled at him.

"ahh thank you mom" Taehyung said and took a bite of the waffle.

"that guy Jungkook, who was here yesterday..." Taehyung mother started smiling at him.

He knew it! Of course she made waffles and played chill music in the background for a reason. Taehyung shook his head "yeah he's really nice isn't he?" Taehyung asked ironic.

"he was very nice, he seems like a good friend" she stated.

friend. yeah. Of course she didn't think that Jungkook was Taehyung flirt. He was a friend.

Taehyung continued to eat his waffles while telling his mother about Jimin and Yoongi. She seems super okay with it. Which kind of made Taehyung jealous.

When he was done he rushed to school.

classes without Ellie was wack. Even when Taehyung didn't talk to her they made faces to each other or lip-synced at full conversation.

Today Taehyung actually paid attention to what the teachers said, surprisingly enough, he learned a lot. Normally he just read it books later but now he didn't have to study at home.
Wow what a new world.

Ellie and Taehyung normally went to lunch together at Thursdays but now Taehyung was all alone, or not really cause a lot of people greeted him.

He got his tray of food and sat down at their table.

A few minutes later Jimin and Yoongi joined him. They were trying to find different reasons to why Mr Johnson dressed extra nice today.
Taehyung had thought about that too so he included himself in the conversation.

He looked up and in between Jimin and Yoongi and saw Jungkook sitting far away but just in between others so he was visible to Taehyung.
The other notice Taehyung looking. Taehyung made one of his best funny faces, Jungkook returned with one. Taehyung did another and Jungkook too. They finished with laughing silent until someone asked Jungkook about something so he turned his head.

"Tae, did you get Ellie's text this morning?" Jimin asked him when Taehyung looked away from Jungkook.
"Yeah, kinda strange but I guess she's sick" Taehyung answered.
"I asked if we should come by, but she said that she would come back tomorrow" Jimin said.

"Strange" Taehyung answered.

On his way out Taehyung was stopped by Jin
"I'm having a party tomorrow night, you're invited" He said.

"Cool, i'll come" Taehyung answered smiling at him.

Taehyung phone beeped from his bed.
He turned around in his chair and reached out for it.

Jungkook

: Hey wanna talk?

: u mean text right?

: No i mean talk on the phone

: oh,, sure

Taehyung gulped. He never talked to anyone over the phone except Jimin and Ellie.

He sat with his phone in his hand and stared at it, until the screen changed. He took a deep breath and swiped to answer.

"Hi my name is Chelsea" Jungkook said with that low voice.
"what's your favorite dinner food? HAHAH" Taehyung laughed surprise by the other.
Jungkook laughed on the other line.

"i can't believe that you actually know that" Taehyung said

When they laughed off Taehyung asked "so what did you wanna talk about?"

"Oh nothing special, just go back to what ever you were doing and talk to me"
"Cool" Taehyung turned around in his chair to go back to taking notes.
"So you're that talking kinda person hah?" Taehyung asked as he placed his phone on the desk.

"Hm yeah, i tend to forget that I'm texting someone and then I feel it's more personal to talk" he answered.
"You're right" Taehyung said. He really liked to talk over the phone too, he just never did it with other than Jimin and Ellie, cause it felt weird.

"kay but what the cow is going in with Jimin and Yoon?" Jungkook then asked.

While drawing a line with his ruler to divide the notes Taehyung snorted "i know right, suddenly they're all over each other"

"I've never experienced Yoon being so touchy and protective and lastly.. in love with someone" Jungkook said.

"Yeah he doesn't seem like one of those boyfriend types" Taehyung answered as he chose what color to high light his notes with.

"That's for sure" Jungkook stated "Jimin must've done something to him" he snorted.
"He is a little devil" Taehyung pointed out.

They continued to talk about the game last night, and somehow they ended up talking about Ellie and Elias.

"But do you know how Elias feels?" Taehyung asked as he packed his school stuff down.

"Hmm , I mean Elias has always talked about her, like ahh she loves me or she is really hot, but lately he hasn't talked about her, and if he does it's definitely not that way" He answered.

Taehyung knew that Elias had always had a thing for Ellie and always annoyed her since freshmen year, but he also noticed the change in him. Like last night he looked really worried, when he asked if she was around.

"I don't know Tae, maybe we should let them solve it themselves" Jungkook said.
"I know i know, but i feel like something is wrong" Taehyung answered as he threw himself in his bed.

The time was 11:34 pm and Taehyung was still talking to Jungkook. Now they were talking about vines.

"Ahaahha what about 'theres only one race, the human race' " Taehyung said
"Slaps the other 'what about NASCAR' " Jungkook answered.
"HAHAHAH" Taehyung almost yelled.
"We need to stop or else im gonna pee"
"Yep you're right" Taehyung answered having breathing issues and tears in his eyes.

The two boys still talked when both of them went to bed.

Still talking when Taehyung was fighting to keep his eyes open.
He paid a little more attention to the sounds coming from the speaker of his phone, Jungkook had fallen asleep, and was lightly snoring through the speaker.

Without hanging up Taehyung closed his eyes and fell asleep too.
