Friday was the last day of Taehyung's junior year.He stepped onto the train seeing Jimin, his best friend sitting with his phone with a free seat beside him. Taehyung jumped down beside the other, making him jump in his seat. "Asshole" he murmured, but then smiled at Taehyung. Outside the window was a blue clear sky with a bright and warm sun.
Taehyung was determined that this day he would be in a good mood. His mom was shocked when her son jumped down the stairs with the biggest smile on his lips. "Today is gonna be a good day for you Taehyung" his mother said smiling as she straightened his uniform jacket.
On his way to the train station, he stopped several times to admire the pink and white floral trees. He greeted random people who must've looked back in surprise at the happy boy from the neighborhood.
Taehyung smiled and placed Jimin's left ear phone in his own ear, closed his eyes and let the sun which shone through the window, warm his face.
Walking through the hallway Taehyung felt happy, his arm was over his best friend's shoulder. He smiled to Jihyo and Naeyeon and the rest of the Ellie's volleyball team, he smiled to Dayeon, Dino and Joshua, nodded to Bambam and Yugyeom, greeted Mingyu and Wonwoo, he highfived Kyungsoo who for once actually smiled. He suited him.
He could tell everybody was ready for summer, as much as himself. It was just a mood that everybody had. An urge to do nothing and be outside all the time ate Taehyung alive. But school was soon over.
He got eye contact with people he didn't even know, people who have had their own experiences in their junior year with their friendships and relationships, seeing them talking to their friends about the summer which was ahead of them made Taehyung happy, he smiled to some of them who responded with a warm smile as well.
"and we should totally go to panda express , i have a coupon-" Jimin was talking about what the two friends should do for the rest of the day when school ended. Taehyung didn't listen he glanced down the hall seeing the jocks walking towards him and Jimin. He saw Jungkook walking in the front and talking to Jackson. Taehyung's smile quickly disappeared, he kept his eyes on the other.
he looked like he always did. messy brown hair, earrings, dressed in the school uniform without his jacket, his firm upper body trough the white shirt could be seen from miles away.
Taehyung bit his inner cheek, suddenly Jungkook glanced at Taehyung and their eyes were stuck together, now Jungkook was almost in front of him, he was still talking to Jackson but keeping his eyes on Taehyung. Taehyung held the eye contact but was on the edge to get all of their memories back. Taehyung looked away from Jungkook as he passed him. Jungkook looked down fro a second and then up at Jackson again as they walked further down the hallway.
It hurt. Sharing so much with a person and then being complete strangers. maybe they were just not meant to be?
Taehyung felt all the questioning stares from the people who stood by the lockers and waited for an interaction between the two most popular guys in school, mostly from the jocks, Taehyung felt Jackson looking back at him and then a Jungkook with furrowed eyebrows. Other jocks nudged Jungkook and asked what was going on.
Taehyung bit his lip and looked at Jimin who was looking at him with a understanding smile. They passed the school's office with Harris standing outside the door and greeting his pupils.
"oh Taehyung, can I talk to you for a minute?" Harris said as soon as he saw Taehyung.
Taehyung glanced at Jimin again who nodded, he turned back to the principle "sure".
Sitting down in the chair in front of Harris's desk gave Taehyung awful memories back to the time where he was told his grades were falling. and everything was wack.
Harris sat down and looked up at Taehyung with a face he couldn't figure out.
"about what you sent-" Harris started
Taehyung shut his eyes closed. He knew he messed up with the assignment, he'll loose his position as an A student in his senior year, but it was his own fault, he could've written the assignment earlier, maybe it wasn't even that important for Taehyung to be an A student any longe-
" I absolutely loooved it" Harris suddenly said, clapping his hands together making Taehyung flinch.
"what?" he looked back at the exited principle with furrowed eyebrows.
"The fact that you called it 'dear person who's in love', i love it, i love it, it's like a letter with a bunch of thoughts and advice about what love is from a high school student,it's so raw, i loved it" Harris said and jumped in his seat.
wait
Taehyung looked up at Harris with wide eyes.
'dear person who's in love' is what Taehyung had been written for the last weeks, like his own little diary. he sent the wrong one to Harris. SHIIIIIIIIITTTTT
Taehyung gulped and forced himself to smile while staring at the paper, HIS THOUGHTS, in Harris hands.
"But i have one question though" Harris said in another tone that made Taehyung look up at him."what?" Taehyung asked.
"Taehyung there's no happy end? and you seem to be pretty happy right now , how can that be?"
Taehyung thought about it for a second. Well he wrote the last words the night where it all happened with Jungkook. and to be honest Taehyung was still sad. he had lost his best friend and the love of his life or that what he thought he was.
"There isn't always a happy ending" Taehyung finally answered
"well if you find one, let me know" Harris gave Taehyung an encouraging nod and smile.

It took a while for Taehyung to understand what he just had done. He had sent his own kinda diary with his thoughts about being gay and loosing a best friend and falling in love with a guy. But he slowly accepted it. Even though he had not re-read to whole thing or anything he had written on that document, it was a relief that someone had read his feelings, the feelings he couldn't talk about out loud.
The classes of the last school day was quickly over, no one payed attention to what the teachers said. when the bell rang it almost felt like High school musical.
SUMMER BREAAAAAK.
People were running through the hallways to get out in the sun in front of school.
Taehyung greeted Jin, Namjoon, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Yoongi and all the other seniors who already stood outside the school on the green lawn, saying goodbye to their high school for the last time.
"Tae! we're going to Chanyeol's house, wanna come?" Jimin yelled from the roof of Yoongi's jeep.
Taehyung smiled and nodded.
He turned around at looked at the tall building of his school.
"see you"
